About this ebook

This collection of inspirational poetry is a testimony of my personal challenges and experiences, biblical knowledge, occurrences throughout the community, as well as those of my friends, immediate and church family. I am grateful to be blessed with the gift of writing and singing, something I do not take for granted. I believe gifts and talents are to be used to help and encourage others near and far, known and unknown.

My desire is that this book go to places I may never go, reach people I may never be able to physically reach, bring healing to the sick and shut-in, mend broken hearts, restore marriages, and cause its readers who do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ to come to know Him as their personal Lord and Savior.

I believe there is something in this book for everyone. Many of the poems were written as songs and are being compiled into two CDs; the first is being recorded simultaneously with the publishing of this book. Poems such as God Will Do it Again, Delayed but Not Denied, I am so Grateful and Im in Love with a Man Called Jesus are just a few poems in the form of songs written with the intent of reaching a listening audience with the message of the good news. Be blessed and encouraged as you read.

    PREFACE / ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Every day is a special day to me because I have been afforded the gift of life. A day I have never seen before and will never see again. In spite of the many challenges I have faced, I am always grateful because no matter what goes on during the course of the day; good or bad news, sickness or health, or monetary challenges, blessings always outweigh disappointments. From these multiple blessings, to which my challenges are minute; the vision for Inspirational Poetry is rebirthed daily. At times, during the course of the night, I awake with many inspiring thoughts and I am forced to scribble, if only a sentence, when I realize that I am still here, I am still breathing, my limbs are still functioning, I did not receive a disturbing phone call during the night; then I glance through the window and see the dawning of a new day enriched by the brilliance of tropical sunshine, sometimes augmented with a burst of liquid sunshine (rain) I can’t help but document the way I feel about such an awesome God who keeps on blessing me, in-spite of my Inadequacies.

The words in these poetries and songs are my testimonies. These thoughts, and much more, are the generating force that inspire me to do what I do, on a daily basis; To God be the glory.

Words cannot express how delightful I am to my heavenly Father, through His Son, for being blessed and highly favored with the gifts and talent he has entrusted me with; I don’t take it for granted but promise to use it for His honor and glory and for the advancement of His Kingdom.

I am grateful for my family, in particularly my lovely wife Brenda who is my greatest fan, my children, grandchildren, adopted children and a host of family and friends who play an invaluable role in motivating me daily to continue using my gifts to the glory of God and to encourage and inspire others. Special thanks to my fourth and last son Michael, who has been one of my greatest inspirations since the year two thousand (2,000) when God miraculously brought him out of a tragic accident that has left his body confined to a wheelchair, for the time being, but we are forever grateful that his mind is intact and free to give God the glory.

Thanks to the body of believers that surrounds me. Special recognition to my home church, Community Fellowship Centre, Assembly of God, and the shepherd of the flock; Reverend Bradley D. Handfield, who encourages me personally and through his teachings, to use my gifts and talents for the glory of God.

Much appreciation is extended to all those who have assisted me with critiquing and editing the material for this book with notable mention to: Judy and Kate Knowles, Kathy Borsuk, Barbara Johnson, Tanya Swann, Sandra Lightbourne and Brendalee Smith, I could never have done it without you.

Many thanks to those who have read and will read this book of poetry; I pray that your hearts be blessed and you find comfort and healing in the words of each composition.
