About this ebook
At least once in our life time, our lives will be touched in ways we may not want and in others that we are so thankful. Everyone has a story to tell whether good or bad, and you want to share lest it be swept under the rug. I've often found myself alone until I got down on my knees and began to pray, leaving the problem of all situations in God's hands. This book of poems represents that. You'll find prayer as it had always been taught and had not utilized it till you were at the end of the road, just like the ones in this book, young and old. Even though We don't know the thoughts of babies and people lost in their minds, truth be said God does. He's here with us through it all. We may not see change right away, but it will come patience with prayer, faith and trust in God. Remember God has a plan. In this book there are crossroads, asking God what direction should be taken, there are many stumbling blocks along the way. You'll see pictures in this book that close out the poems, allowing you to become one. As You settle down, I want You to realize this Journey is of real people's lives, you'll see you are not the only one. The words will allow you to know that God was there in that moment, you may even find Him with you in your time. Your heart will know what was asked of God, the answer's that connect you. At the end of these poems, you may recognize your crossroads among these words, straight from my heart.

Straight from the Heart - Barbara Jean Woodson
America
Momma
said there would be days like this
life
is what You make of it
many decisions
will play a part
make them with both Your mind and heart
It’s okay to stand
for what You believe
but
don’t wear hate
upon Your sleeve
Black,
Brown, and White
are crayons
in a box they belong
not
in Gang wars
to right a wrong
God
Bless America
let
prayer
carry from Our churches
to the Schools
put
His words above the rules
America
Red, White, and Blue
enough
blood has been shed on You
let’s
rise above
all of Us
trade destruction for God’s love
An Angel
There’s no mo’ rain
"Thank God
’cause you’re not dead"
He took My hand
that held My head
as I sat on the edge of the curb
the softest voice said
As
I glanced up
a light was shining upon a face
of a child
with big eyes and a gentle smile
speaking words of a wise soul
couldn’t have been no more
than five or six years old
Standing
on his bare feet
this is what He said to Me
I
felt the waters
freezing My toes
coming into My nose
Momma
said close your eyes baby
it’s going to be okay
know that God is with Us
Tears
streamed down My face
his small hand
wiped them away
causing a breath of life
to race through My heart
He was right
no
broken bones nor scars
As
I turned the boy had gone
An Angel
leaving My life to carry on
American Way
Just
the other Day
I
