Through Thorns I Thrive: A Spiritual Journey Through the Depths of Hell to Finding Heaven Here on Earth
()
About this ebook
Through a series of heartbreaking events, her self-esteem diminished and her feelings of inadequacy as a woman caused her to spiral into a deep depression. Battling obesity and infertility kept her in the depths of despair for fifteen long, agonizing years.
Just at the time when she thought she would go over the edge, tragic events miraculously saved her from doing the unthinkable and created the shift she needed and gave her the hope and will to live again.
Through her challenges and adversities, she learned her biggest lessons and was able to find joy and happiness.
Through Thorns I Thrive is a story of a journey through hell, of heartache and pain, coming out the other side and finding heaven here on earth. It offers inspiration and hope that there is a way out of the darkness, and that love, for oneself, for others, and for God, is the answer and heals all wounds.

This book is written for anyone who suffers from depression or loss. May you find the light. The love of God will take you there and heal your heart.
The Rose
Some say love, it is a river that drowns a tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need
I say love it is a flower, and you it’s only seed
It’s the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance
And the dream afraid of waking that never takes a chance
It’s the one who won’t be taken, that can not seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying, that never learns to live
When the night has been to lonely and the road has been to long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snow
Lies a seed that with the suns love, in the spring becomes the rose.

FOREWORD
H ave you ever felt unhappy or that your life wasn’t what you thought it would be? Are you always searching for more happiness and not finding it? Whether you know it yet or not, it is your birthright as a human being to live a purposeful and passionate life.
The book you hold in your hand is a simple, yet profound example of how it is possible to change your life no matter what your circumstances.
It all begins with the thoughts you think about yourself. Most people think there is a world out there separate from themselves. They fall into the trap that creates fear, suffering, and unhappiness. Yet you have a choice.
What you believe, you will create. What would you rather believe? That life will always be difficult and disappointing or that the universe is full of abundance and adventure? Would you rather live a mediocre and automatic life, or a magnificent and authentic one? Would you rather believe the world is a dangerous place or that everything and everyone in it is here to support you on your journey?
You have the ability to choose what you think and what you believe. If you are not happy with the way things are, you have the ability to change, just the way Carla did.
When you begin to be grateful for the things you have, and appreciate that every moment on this earth is a gift, you will find more joy. What you put your attention on grows stronger in your life.
Finding your passions and following your heart will lead you effortlessly on to fulfill your unique and special purpose for being alive. When you are living on purpose, you are aligned with your destiny. You have special gifts given to you so you may share them with the world. When you share your gifts with others, both your life and theirs will be richer.
Through Thorns I Thrive is a perfect example that life is a magnificent journey. We all have difficulties in our life, but we can choose how we react and learn the lessons they are meant to teach us. It is our natural state to shine and thrive, and grow stronger through our trials. Everything you experience is what makes you who you are. Embrace your true nature. It is never too late to discover who you are or why you are here. Once you do you will never look back.
