About this ebook

My poems are inspired by the presence of God my everyday life. They are a sort of journal, telling of how
He has helped me through the trials and joys of marriage and motherhood. He has shown me what being a friend really means in good times and in bad. For more than fifty years I have been writing poems as a way of remembering how He has worked in and through me, an ordinary, abundantly blessed woman.

    Heart Pages - Barbara I. Brown

    FAITH

    PERFECTLY BLESSED

    God does not require

    That I be perfect;

    He knows that I can’t.

    He just wants me

    To take what He has given,

    And use it the best I can.

    So I’ll step out in faith,

    Knowing that in Him I’ll find all

    The courage and strength I’ll need.

    I will never be perfect;

    Just perfectly blessed

    By the only ONE who is!

    God is my strength and power and He makes my way perfect.

    II Samuel 22:33

    CHANGES

    Prayer changes things.

    I’ve heard that all my life,

    And I know it’s true.

    I’ve seen it happen;

    Felt the power within

    When prayer is answered.

    Not all the answers

    Were what I thought I wanted,

    But all were what God knew I needed.

    With each prayer lifted,

    My faith grew stronger and

    Trust became as natural as breath.

    So I know that

    Prayer changes everything,

    Because it changes me!

    THE POWER

    Oh, the power of prayer!

    Lord, I am so thankful

    To know that you are there.

    Once more this week, I’ve seen the way

    You hear and answer prayer.

    Every time my hope was low,

    I felt your presence there.

    Whenever fear began to grow,

    I only had to talk to you,

    To feel your blessings flow.

    Please help me, Lord, to always see,

    Whatever the time, or place, or need,

    You’re only a prayer away from me.

    Oh, the mighty power of God,

    That prayer does set free!

    ALL THINGS NEW

    I love a new
