True and False Worship

When worship becomes performance, the sanctuary becomes a theater, the congregation becomes an audience, and worship becomes entertainment. The applause and approval of the congregation then becomes the measure of success.

But when worship is for the glory of God, his presence moves in the sanctuary. Even the unsaved visitors will fall down on their faces, worship God, and confess that God is among us.

Rickey Smiley

Rickey Smiley is a stand-up comedian, television host, actor, and radio personality. He starred in the sitcom The Rickey Smiley Show, which aired on TV One, is a featured columnist on the Fox-produced tabloid show Dish Nation, and in 2015 began filming Rickey Smiley for Real, a reality television series about his life as a single dad and entertainer, airing on TV One. He is currently the host of the nationally syndicated radio program The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, and has released eight chart-topping comedy CDs. He splits his time between Birmingham, Atlanta, and Hollywood, Florida, with his family.

In the beginning God was revealed in all the works of creation.

It was Christ who spread the heavens and laid the foundation of the earth.

It was His hands that hung the worlds in space and fashioned the flowers of the field.

His strength set fast the mountains. The sea is His for He made it.

It was He who filled the earth with beauty and the air with song.

Upon all things in the earth, air, and sky, He wrote the message of the Father’s love.

YOU

You formed me out of nothing.

And you plucked me from obscurity.

You found me immersed in filth among the unclean things.

You sought me out as one does a lost child and did not withhold Your love from me, but You beckoned me to draw
