Schools are a microcosm of society. As violence, drugs, and neglect occur in our neighborhoods they are expressed through the behaviors of our children in the classroom. Teachers are expected to successfully address issues that society itself has not been able to resolve, while at the same time creating a setting in which all students can learn.
