    Deuteronomy 29:1–6 says the following:

    These are the words of the covenant, which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.

    And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;

    The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:

    Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.

    And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

    Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the Lord your GOD.

    I say to you, my sisters and brothers, that singleness is just a journey through the wilderness. It is just another wilderness experience.

    GOD is expecting you to go through the experience with a strong head. HE is expecting you to use your head and not your heart. In Jeremiah 17:9, the Bible says the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. In other words, the heart is untruthful. The heart makes you feel like everything is just fine so you can do as you please—you can just do it. The heart is not concerned about the end result; the heart is just thinking for that moment.

    When you think with your head and not your heart, the head tells you the right thing. But the heart works with the emotions. Your emotions are never stable: today you feel like it, and tomorrow you don’t.

    You cannot depend on your emotions; you need to depend on your head because it is your head that will determine what is right or wrong. The head will say, What does GOD say about the situation, or what will GOD want me to do about this situation?

    QUESTION: Are you thinking with your head or with your heart?

    I have learned over the years to pattern my life after GOD. I have learned to stand still until my change comes. As I look back over my life, I can see that GOD was on my side, and I know that HE is also on your side.

    Growing up, I remember saying to myself
