Chapter One
LEGAL PROBLEMS
After four years of marriage to Trampas, Destiny thinks of her life as being divided into two segments: pre-typing and post-typing. Other than salvation, typing was the most important steppingstone of her life. While she spent a couple of months with her mother during a personal crisis, she found a course in a popular magazine for learning to type. Her mother gave her permission to practice on her typewriter.
Since the typewriter keys did not press easily, Destiny could not gain any speed. Yet she did learn the positioning of the letters and of her fingers on the keyboard. Thus began her disciplined world of journaling and freelancing.
A local newspaper published Destiny’s first article in December, 1986. It was in the back of her mind to write a book. At the time, she thought the theme would be of a secular nature. Acceptance in a magazine brought Destiny’s first pay in February. It marked the beginning of many published articles.
In January, Destiny placed herself in the Lord’s hands concerning health and finances. A blessing came the next day through a medical test result. A bee stung Destiny on her foot and wrist. She used over-the-counter medicines and prayed. Even though she was allergic to beestings, she was healed. In addition, Destiny’s gum had been bothering her. She had chills for several days.
Destiny’s mother said that she would like to have a copy of the tape of Destiny’s testimony and that she should have been a preacher. Looking back on that conversation, Destiny considers it as being prophetic.
During a fast-falling snowstorm, Destiny almost fell asleep at the wheel. God jerked her awake. A neighbor came to plow out X’s driveway because God wanted her to go to church, a dental appointment, and the library. The Lord is merciful, she thought.
Destiny experienced her first prophetic dream in which she went to a psychiatrist who released her after the first visit and hugged her. That dream came true in later years. Later, she dreamed that she would be honored about her writing.
Another prophetic dream, in which her brother told her that he was getting married, came true. A while afterward, Destiny dreamed that Dr. Kildare
came to see her. That could mean Dr. Jesus or a Hollywood celebrity.
A crisis mounted about a cloud hanging over the
