- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This part will always on my mind " soldiers in the desert need to keep fit and they find ways to do so even without barbells or pull up bars. We should try to be just as resourceful as the soldiers." I will always remember that every time i feel like i don't want to do anything just to remind myself to be more productive. Really love it !!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love the message. Not really what we're taught in school but if there's anything worth teaching, this it's this kind of wisdom .
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5For a very stubborn person like me who have already read several personality development books just to keep myself going everyday, this book is the one that definitely got me going. I realized that I am unconsciously more productive than ever since I started reading this summary. If this one is powerful, I could not imagine how great the original book is. I am really excited to read it. There is something about this book that keeps it apart from other personality development books. This one had taught me what real discipline is and I have been looking for it everywhere. It was inside of me all along
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Jocko lays it straight, gives basic examples that sink in, presents ideas in a manner that is respectful and not preachy, and does so in an easy to read fashion. This book can be blown through in short order, but its gift is making you take the time on each page.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It is a solid book for anyone who feels stuck. Most of what is written here are things we intrinsically know, but are things on which we refuse to act.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The first part of the book is outstanding in its clarity on self discipline.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Exactly what it says it is, a field manual. If I had to describe it I would call it the ultimate excuse killer. Jocko Willink instructs you how to navigate the mine field of excuses you'll encounter while you're getting after it, whatever "it" may be. From procrastination to injury, from why, where, when, to your own weakness. Jock lays out straight forward truths to act upon if you want to walk your own disciplined path. I believe anyone who is striving to add more discipline to their life in any area for any reason will find this book inspiring and helpful if they are willing to be honest with themselves.
