Summary Guide - The Mindset Warrior
Introduction
In this Mindset Warrior Summary Guide, we cover the main topics discussed in Lifespan: Why We Age—and Why We Don't Have To
. This book is intended to supplement your reading and be an easy reference guide. You are encouraged to purchase the original book if you have not already.
The difference between this guide and the actual book is that we don't go into the lengthy stories and repetition that most books often do. Instead, we share each principle, explain its reasoning, and then provide the steps on how to apply each to your own life in order to slow and reverse aging.
As I always say, the original books are great to read because they provide a lot of examples. This repetition can help to embed the lessons into your psyche. That being said, stripping these lessons down to there core will help you to focus on the things that really matter. As I'm sure we can agree, time is very valuable. I am all about maximizing time.

Setting The Stage
Lifespan has increased, but our healthspan has not. Inside the book: Lifespan
, Dr. David Sinclair proposes the question:
What if we could be younger longer? Not years longer, but decades longer. What if those final years didn’t look so terribly different from the years that came before them? And what if, by saving ourselves, we could also save the world?
Throughout the book he attempts to answer those questions.
Here are a few facts about Dr. David Sinclair:
- Has thirty years in the field of human biology
- Runs a lab at Harvard Medical School
- Serves as a professor in the Department of Genetics at Harvard
- Co-directs the Paul F. Glenn Center for the Biological Mechanism of Aging
- Runs a lab at the University of New South Wales in Sydney
- Co-founded the research journal: Aging
- Co-founder of the Academy for Health and Lifespan Research (a group of the top 20 researchers in aging)
Through his lab, and through collaborations with other researchers, Sinclair has been able to accumulate a lot of information on the nuances of aging. Inside the book you'll learn:
(x) Why David considers aging a disease...
