couple of decades ago, researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) discovered a series of genes called Sirtuins, or SIRT1 genes. These caused a bit of a stir in the nutritional science world, as they work on a cellular level to control cell death. They also influence the genes that control our ageing process, helping to repair DNA and regulate our metabolism (and therefore weight gain) as we age. When the MIT scientists conducted their lab experiments, putting more of these SIRT1 genes into test organisms, they found the lifespans increased by up to 20%. A pretty impressive life
