68 Reverse Aging Therapies Backed Up By Science You Probably Never Heard About. How to Get 20 Years Younger - Victoria Fairchild Porter
Scientists have identified several fundamental causes of aging.
What causes aging? There are different opinions - some believe the foods we eat and the sun exposure are the major reasons for aging, others think it’s the way we breathe and our genes, but they all agree that everyone’s biological age is different from their chronological age and that is due to different lifestyles, habits and diets.
Some scientists believe that the number one cause of aging is glycation, followed by oxidative stress and telomere shortening.
Glycation
When we heat food, it undergoes chemical changes and creates acidic toxins. That’s how twisted carbohydrates, fats and proteins are created and also carcinogens, which results in Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs).
Glucose binds to our proteins, lipids and DNA and they get unable to function properly and cause aging. So the least processed is the food you eat – the better.
Oxidative Stress
Oxidants contain oxygen and are highly reactive substances, which damage the DNA, the fats and the proteins. Free radicals steal energy (electrons). They are called oxidizing (acidic) and they cause decay. Free radicals are missing an electron and are therefore unstable molecules. They are deficient in energy and cause cellular damage (dry, sagging and wrinkled skin). Free radicals are the culprits for our aging. They attack healthy molecules, steal their electrons and create new free radicals. The way to stop this process is to take anti-oxidants, which have spare electrons and therefore an excess of energy, which it gives up in favor of the free radicals and neutralizes them.
Avoid drinking, smoking, radiation, stress, coffee, polluted air and processed foods as much as possible in order to avoid the above sources of free
