This is also very effective! I heard about intermittent fasting and how fast it can help you if you are trying to lose weight. It also gives you different feeling when doing this. It feels more light and just happy. You can really see the result in a month. But of course, it is not advisable on everyone. You should at least consult your doctor if it is suitable for you. There are some medical conditions that is not advise to do intermittent because it will affect their health condition. This book is worth to read most especially when you are trying to lose weight! Chapter 1: The What and the Why – What Really Is Autophagy, and Why Are People Interested in It?
Even if your body is healthy and you aren’t suffering from any illnesses, diseases, or pain, cells are constantly being damaged as part of a normal and healthy metabolic process. This occurs just by living our daily lives – and it is not a big deal. As we age, deal with more stress, and have more and more free radical damage throughout the body, the cells start to increase their rate of being damaged more than ever.
This is where the process of autophagy comes into play. This is the natural process in the body that helps clear up damaged cells inside and includes cells that have gotten old and do not serve any functional purposes but haven’t been removed out of organs and tissues yet. While it is natural for the body to get old and have damaged cells, it is not a good idea to have them stay around. You need to remove these cells because they can trigger inflammatory pathways and will end up contributing to a wide range of diseases as well.
The word ‘autophagy’ was coined more than forty years ago. It comes from the Greek words auto, which means self, and phagy, which means eating. Hence, basically, the body is going to be the process of self-eating. This may not sound like the best thing in the world; however, it is a natural and completely good thing to occur in your body. What this means is that the body is going to clean itself out, removing all the old and damaged cells, to allow more room for the healthy cells that you want to have there.
