Genevieve Lilith Vesta

Genevieve Lilith Vesta is a self-published author of the horror/occult, with a bit of fantasy, thriller, and mystery thrown into the mix. She was born and raised in Michigan but always dreamt of living in the South. Genevieve began her yearning for the written word thirty-nine years ago at the tender age of ten; she wrote mainly poetry and children’s stories in the beginning. As a child, Genevieve was plagued with reoccurring nightmares; so at twelve years old, after reading Pet Sematary from Stephen King, she began to reach deep into the darkness of her own mind and discovered the art of horror within herself and began to write stories about the nightmares that were buried deep inside her. In her teenage years, she became interested in witches and through research, the occult. Soon the love of her true genre was formed, the horror/occult. Genevieve’s first book though was a children’s fantasy called, Jessika and the Magic Staff, which was based on her daughter. At the age of thirty-seven, Genevieve’s dream of living in the South became a reality when she moved to Virginia with her husband and their three children. There she finally completed her second book, which is in her true genre of occult/horror called, Witches of Venus: Hell’s Grim Tyrant, and was the first book of four in the Witches of Venus series. Through the years, Genevieve tested her talents with different genres like romance, thriller, adventure, mystery and another children’s book; she also always stayed true to her heart and first calling, the love of the occult/horror genre. In the present, Genevieve is forty-nine years old and working on her new book, a science fiction mystery called, Mysterious Summer. She also is currently in the process of republishing her twelve books that have been self-published previously, with the help from an editor and a manager she did not have before.

    overpowers our hearts

    on a daily basis.

    One

    HOPE

    WHEN OUR EYES MET

    When our eyes met,

I knew my heart was set.

    Whenever I see you,

I don’t know what to do.

I have loved you for a while,

I know I’m not your style.

I watch you every chance I get,

ever since the night we met.

    I think you care,

    but do you dare?

    You know me too well,

    that’s where I fail.

You know the way I am,

you know I can pull a scam.

    I would change my way,

    if you could only say

    I love you, anyway!

    AN ANGEL

As we look to the heavens,

    the sun radiates a golden

    beam of light.

    The wings stretch out long

    and wide,

    as the eagle soars above.

    The Lord took you away

    from our lives,

    but not from within our

    hearts.

    We dream you are near,

    with wings stretched out

    long and wide.

As you look down from above,

    knowing we are still loved.

An angel is what we see,

looking out for you and me.

    TIME IS LOST

    Time is lost

    when I’m alone.

    Love is lost

    when I’m without you.

    What can I do,

    now that I lost you?

    It is not fair.

    How can you dare?

    You walk away,

    not much to say.

    It can’t be this way.

    I’m alone for now,

    lonely as can be.

    I know we can last.

    It is not the end.

    There is always hope,

    you will be back soon

    and in my arms again

    you will be.

    AT BAY

    When I left you

    it hurt me to go.

Our love was kept at bay

it turned my heart to ice.

    When I return

    it will turn to fire.

    SURVIVOR

    As the night goes on,

    you have lied.

    My love has gone,

it was going on too long.

    You are now alone,

    it has been shown.

    You are now the loser,

    I am now the survivor.

    HOPE

There is a strong feeling of emotion,

    just a simple wish,

    for something positive to

    happen in our lives.

It is the feeling of hope that is in us all.

There is always hope in finding our true love,

hope for everyone to live in peace,

hope for healing of the sick and injured,

hope for more money to pay the bills,

    there is always hope

    to live a better life.

Whatever hope is in your heart,

    if you strongly believe,

    the hope you feel

    can become the reality

    you desire.

    MY HEART HAS DIED

    My heart has died away,

now I know I want to stay.

The moon lights up the night sky,

our love was not a lie.

    The moons metallic glow,

    has forced me to go.

It is you I want to be with.

    Gone somewhere new,

    don’t know what to do.

My heart is still back with you,

this is something I must do.

    Had to get away,

    wish together we could stay.

I can’t handle any more pain.

    I will be back soon,

    when it’s a full moon.

As I look toward the sky,

    all I wonder is why.

We will be together some how,

    I do need you now.

    We will be together, again.

    Look into the moon,

    I’ll find the way soon.

    INTO THE NIGHT

As I look into the night,

why did we have to fight?

    The moon is so high,

    was it all a lie?

    The stars are a glow,

    what did I really know?

    It is only you,

    what is there to do?

    I will always wait,

    what if there is hope?

    SAW THE LIGHT

    It’s another day,

    I have been saved.

    Opened my eyes,

    the light appeared.

    Thought it was the end,

    but it’s a new beginning.

    The light was always dark,

    a second chance has come.

    Saw the brightness,

as I lived in a fantasy.

    Now I live in reality,

    problems do arise.

    I was blinded by,

    what I was doing.

    Was slowly dying,

    living out this lie.

    Wish I knew why.

    I learned a lesson,

never give up on a passion.

    Stay with your dreams,

    live in reality.

    You will too see,

    the light appear.

    THE SIMPLE STONES

THE STONES THAT I HAVE are special to me; they reflect great sadness and happiness. I will cherish them forever. The tragedy of September 11 had affected everyone’s life. As the nation mourned, a certain amount of hopelessness filled my days; a great darkness descended on every household.

The need to get away from all of the sadness that surrounded me was strong; I decided to escape to Ludington. My plan was simple; to forget the events that happened and to thoroughly enjoy myself. It did work to some extent, but the tragedy was always in the back of my mind.

It was a sunny morning when my husband, my then three-year-old son, and I made our escape. As my husband drove to our destination the beautiful sights going by had caught our eyes.

My visions of happiness were questioned when I saw all the proudly displayed flags at half-staff. It was a sad and joyous ride, all at once. Nowhere was safe from seeing the reminders of the last few days.

Ludington was a beautiful sight. I wanted to see the sand dunes, so the three of us went to the Ludington State Park. The lighthouse was definitely a place to make a stop, but our luck with them was not usually good. Every lighthouse we had encountered in the past was closed, but that day, luck was with us.

The lighthouse was open so my husband, son, and I walked to it. There were two options
