To The Shadows and Back - Kevin Densmore
Poetry Again? (Introduction)
Hey Guys how are you? Now I know what some of you are thinking, did I really write another books worth of poetry and well yeah I did. It wasn’t supposed to happen but it did and here we are.
––––––––
I know I know, where is the horror, where is the terror? Well as I have stated in my last two books of poetry I am more than just a man who crafts scary stories. I have my emotional moments and I usually transfer those emotions into poetry. And I have had an emotional year let me tell you. Plus poetry is an excellent palette cleanser when I am writing those horrific tales of mine.
––––––––
Like always there is someone to thank. And this time it is Erin Taylor. She came along in my life right when I needed someone and well now we are here. Plus the cover you see. She did that.
––––––––
Well that covers the basics. Now get ready for an emotional ride. Some of these poems will amuse you, some may touch your soul, while others may have you thinking I should probably get back on my meds.
––––––––
So let's do this people, darkness awaits, but I promise there is a light at the end of this tunnel. So until next time.

Toodles,

To the Shadows...
I found a safe place to hide
A place where I belong
A place where I can lay my head
And finally call it home
I walked into the darkness
Hell Bent and Heaven sent
Selling my soul for sanctuary
Even though it is already spent
I am alive in the unknown
In a world where rain does not fall
A place where I matter
And I can ignore the sirens call
Safety upon these shores
To the shadows I shall run
Away from the watching eyes
Away from the blistering sun
Welcomed I will be
As I let life drift away
Inside my temple of peace
And in the darkness I shall Hide away

Stab My Eyes
Did you hear me the other day?
Did you hear me cry?
As I tried to make it through
As I searched for the reason why
I tried to be better
Than everyone else around
It’s funny how laughter
Looks like screaming without any sound
––––––––
Walking in bad weather
Clears my broken mind
Yet I am out of focus
Which I guess is better than being out of time
My eyes have seen horrors
That I do not wish to share
I have seen the decline of empathy
And to be honest I just don’t care
––––––––
So I propose a toast
To the newest tear inside my eye
I can’t help but to be haunted
By all the ghosts of days gone by
I’ll never be better
Just one more confused dying soul
I knew that my life was going to hit a wall
The minute I gave you control
––––––––
So did you hear me the other day?
As I tried not to cry?
Might as way turn around and walk away
Because I might just die
Not that you will notice
When I am gone
At least you're not burdened
And I finally left you alone.....

Yes, Another Love Song
I’m in love
Let my words show you
Let my kiss
Take over you
My heart beats for yours
My life is for you
I’m in love
With you
––––––––
Love knows the way
To cure a soul
Who is in crisis
And out of control
Love knows how
To save any day
A superhero
That comes and stays
––––––––
I’m in love
With an angel
Who knows how
To make me stable
I’m in love
With my future wife
I cannot wait
For us to start this life
––––––––
Love knows when
To come shining through
And it overtakes
That dark part of you
Love knows where
It does belong
So come sing with me
This beautiful love song

....In high school I wrote love songs for profit and away they went. I got this one back three months later and lost it. I found it in a jacket half destroyed after years trying to piece it back together here it is. I know it is
