About this ebook
Hello friends! Inside this slim volume you will not find stories or tales, but you might find little pieces of yourself. I present to you a collection unlike any other of over fifty poems, sonnets, and songs. Some of these pieces date back to a time where things were simple and fun and some are from a time where flannel and grunge reigned supreme. Like any good writer, I am inspired by the world around me. As a result, some of these writings were born during the dark and confusing time we live in now. In these pages you will experience every possible emotion. Sadness, anger, joy, and insanity. But rest assured, every word came straight from the heart, unscathed and smiling.
Kevin Densmore
Kevin began writing short stories when he was an awkward teenager living in a small town in Alabama. Now as an awkward adult, Kevin now lives in a small town in Illinois and still writes short stories. Only this time he is releasing his madness into the world.

Pesky Little Sleeve Hearts - Kevin Densmore
Let me take you on a Journey (Authors Notes)
When I first started writing poetry in High school I honestly did not expect it to go anywhere. I had no real plans to be a professional writer, much less get published. But eleven books later I have found myself pleasantly surprised. Being published led to new friends, new adventures and a lot of questions. One question that is asked quite frequently is:
When did you start writing?
My answer was always unsatisfyingly simple. When I was a kid!
I know it is a cheat answer but it is true. I sometimes went to further lengths to explain but a lot of times I left it alone and went on to the next question. But I felt at some point I was going to need to actually (and properly) answer that ever pressing question. And the only answer I could think of was this book.
This book, which was literally over thirty years in the making, contains several poems from my childhood. I even have one that is older than my favorite editor.
Which also explains the child-like cover. I wanted the notebook to resemble the time of my life when I wrote several of these. Which is basically how an exploding 80's trapper keeper belonging to a daydreaming high schooler would look. Hey, I wanted it to be fun. Special thanks to Abby, Abi, Brianna, Deonna, Holly, Ian, and Maxwell for donating their doodles for this cover.
This is how I got started. With poems, sometimes I wrote poems to express my love for a crush or girlfriend, some dealt with pain. I still keep up the habit of writing poetry today, which is why some of these poems are recent, duh. Way to state the obvious right?
I am not going to tell you what inspired these poems, instead I have decided to just simply leave a date at the end of each poem. That date being when the poem was written or completed. There are a couple of exceptions, but they will have a little note afterwards. Mainly because of just how old the poems actually are.
I know I am rambling and some of you just want to get on with reading poetry, but I do have to thank a few people.
Niki Earnheart, I am so happy you kept all the poems I gave you. Thank you for sending me copies. Love ya forever girl
Trissa Chapman, thanks for holding on to my stuff as well, you are great, never forget that.
Amy, I cannot believe you live next to our old history teacher. Thank you so much for letting her know of this project, those treasures she unearthed made this book even more special.
Mrs. Creighton, I see now what you saw in me. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement back in ‘88 who knew the dorky little kid who just scribbled crazy doodles and poems would amount to something. Oh wait that’s right you knew.
` Well ok people let's get to it. There may be tears, there will be laughs, there may even be screams. I welcome you all to join me on this little walk down memory lane. It might be a mess, but it is my mess.
Kitty,Kitty,Kitty
Where did the little kitty go?
Orange and striped like a ball
Up the tree it ran
I hope it does not fall
Pretty Kitty Kitty
Please be my friend
I promise not to hurt you
I promise not to pretend
Kitty Cat run away
Left me here with a fish
Kitty don’t go
That is my one wish
Kitty I love you
I will always pet you
Kitty Kitty Kitty
You make dreams come true.

.....This poem was the first thing that I remember writing. My mother kept it after all these years
I wrote this in second grade for some weird poetry thing that they sometimes have us kids do.
I was told at the time it was good and well worded. I was only seven and to be honest
