About this ebook
With the publication of Finding Fish, his memoir of a childhood spent in foster homes in and around Cleveland, Antwone Fisher shared with the world his story of perseverance, determination, and courage. And he also showed that within him beat the heart of an artist -- a major factor in his resilience and recovery.
Now with Who Will Cry for the Little Boy?, his first collection of poetry, Antwone Fisher reveals the inner truths that took him from a tumultuous childhood to the man he is today. The powerful poems presented here range from impressions and expressions of Antwone's years growing up to the love that he has gained from the family he made for himself as an adult.
From the title poem -- which is featured prominently in the movie Antwone Fisher -- a plaintive, haunting tribute to a childhood lost to abuse and neglect, to "Azure Indigo," the uplifting and touching poem about his daughters, many readers will find their own feelings and experiences reflected in this lyrical and passionate collection.
Antwone Q. Fisher
Antwone Fisher is the author of the New York Times bestseller Finding Fish. He is also the screenwriter of the film Antwone Fisher, based on his life and directed by Academy Award winner Denzel Washington. Fisher lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5If you've seen the movie based on his life you'll know that the author had a rough childhood and experienced abandonment. Isolation is a common theme in his poems, however many also are about love; lost love, unrequited love, wondering if he'll ever find love and a wonderfully written love poem dedicated to his wife. I appreciate that the poems came straight from his heart, but some of them were very simplistic, amateurish (?). He does preface in his introduction that his "poems are usually not what I hope to convey to others, but rather, they are my way of speaking to myself. The words are my cadence combined with my spirit." Overall, it was a decent read; I finished the book in about one hour.

FOREWORD
A few years ago, I had the pleasure of sitting in on a lecture given by Maya Angelou. She spoke of poetry and its healing powers. She suggested that we all get to know various American poets. She held a particular reverence for Countee Cullen and Langston Hughes, but she recommended that we examine a variety of poets writing on different themes. Dr. Angelou said that when we are feeling alone in a crisis
