I am an author of mostly erotica/erotic romance with a bit of scifi and sweet romance thrown in. I have visited or lived in each of the 48 continental United States at one time or another. Hawaii and Alaska are on my list of places to see. I've been to Canada and one day plan to tour Mexico as well. I've worked as a taxi driver, an exotic dancer/waitress, a dump truck driver, a storage facility manager and a traveling carnival worker. I love writing stories more than anything (other than my fabulous grandson (: ) and hope to one day support myself with my stories. I live in Louisiana with my boyfriend, two grown kids, an awesome grandson, and several spoiled cats. I truly believe you can do anything you set your mind to.

    His Christmas Wish 1 & 2 - Cindy Larie

    CHAPTER ONE

    His Christmas Wish

    One

I found myself stuck in unusually slow traffic as I ran errands, preparing everything for our annual Christmas trip to the ski lodge. Or trying to prepare, anyway. Sitting in mostly stopped stop and go traffic, jamming to top forty tunes on the radio, wasn’t doing much to whittle my list. I scowled and turned the radio down a couple notches, from ear splitting to merely window rattling, leaned out the window and attempted to see what the holdup was. Apparently wondering the same thing, the driver of the eye searing orange almost monster size truck in front of me crossed the line again, blocking my view with oversized tires—like he couldn’t just peer over the cars in front of him. Sighing, I looked down and noticed my phone was blinking, indicating I had a text or a missed call.

Looking around for cops, I tapped the button to light up my screen. A text from Joey. I nibbled my lip, debating. Was it texting and driving if you were sitting still? Should I risk it? Before I could decide, taking the decision out of my hands, my phone rang. Joey again. After making sure the volume was turned down, I tapped to answer.

    Hello?

Hey, Mom. It’s me, Joey. His voice comes at me through the SUV’s speakers in surround sound.

    Yeah?

    Are you busy?

Depends on your definition of busy. I shrug, forgetting he can’t see me. I’m sitting in stop and go traffic at the moment, heavy on the stop and not much go, but constantly ready to creep up, lest some opportunist tries to cut me off for an extra couple of inches. Why? What you need?

Let me guess—five, south of eighty-four, headed north?

Yeeesss…why? I groaned, Please don’t say bad accident.

More like a breakdown. Wide load had a steer tire blowout, lost control, veered across traffic and is blocking northbound just south of Burnside Bridge.

    Any injuries?

"No, that’s why I said breakdown. According to Fox news, it happened when there was light traffic and, aside from one small fender bender between two cars that tried to go around on the shoulder at the same time, it’s being called a moderate inconvenience."

    Moderate, my ass.

    Mom, you’re on speaker phone.

That’s your issue, not mine. You know I lack an internal sensor.

Fumbling thumps reverberate through the speakers and then I hear my son’s voice, muffled, as though his hand is partially covering the phone, You still sure you want to come?

A deep voice filled with muted laughter responded, similarly muffled, "Hell yeah! Your mom sounds awesome—plus, it’s better than staying here with
