Chapter 1 Introduction

The previous year, Bill Chase had lost his job in the early days of summer. He had seen an ad in the paper wanting a general laborer at a girls' summer camp. Bill was an outdoors type of guy and loved fishing, hunting, camping, and all the outdoors activities. He had applied for the job and spent his summer at the girls' camp. He had the time of his life.

When Bill got a letter from Edna, the head counselor of the girls' summer camp, he immediately opened and read it.

Dear Mr. Chase,

This is to let you know that your position has again been funded for the upcoming summer session. Your work last year was admirable, but there have been many changes. If you desire your position again this year, please call for an appointment to discuss the changes and fill out the necessary paperwork. We will then not ask for other applicants.

Bill immediately called Edna, let her know that he did want the job, and made an appointment to do the paperwork.
