About this ebook

When Trevor is caught trying to sabotage the dam threatening his old summer camp, his captor Solomon claims Trevor is his boyfriend then drags Trevor off to a lodge for the weekend. Sexual tension, Trevor's rage and Solomon's drunken work mates hardly improve the situation . . .
Six months later, it's nearly Christmas and Solomon is waiting outside the camping co-op where Trevor works. Trevor has no idea what to do with this strong enigmatic man who's clearly in love with him. Dinner seems like a good start.

Trevor heard a grunt of surprise about a second before the man tackled him from behind. No time to fight. Oily dirt in his face. The man's weight on his back. No air in his lungs. Trevor inhaled dust, coughed. Dropped the wire cutters while trying shield his mouth. The man got Trevor's wrists, rolled and heaved Trevor up with him so Trevor sat on his lap.

What are you doing here, buddy? Are you crazy?

    Let go.

Don't think so. The man pulled him closer in a bear hug and pointed a toe at the tool half covered in dirt. How many break lines did you snip?

Trevor glared at the huge fat tires of the earth-moving machines lined up on the packed ground in front of them. He'd spent too long scouting out the dam site, looking for the best target when he should have acted. So much for his brilliant plan.

The man shook him. How many, bud?

    None.

Good. So what did you do?

    Nothing.

You must have damaged the fence.

    No fence along the river.

    You swam across?

Trevor snorted. Yeah, sure. I'm a freaking Marine.

    Explain.

Figure it out yourself. The nearest RCMP detachment is in Wawa. Good luck getting them all the way up here to arrest me.

You should be so lucky. Now I'm going to tell you what's going to happen, buddy—

A dog barked. The man swore and let Trevor go.

Get your stuff, buddy. You have to get out of here.

Fine by him. He'd camp in the forest and come back tomorrow. Finish the job properly. Trevor shoved the wire cutters into his backpack and slung it over one shoulder as he studied his assailant. The man was a bit taller than he was and not much older, late twenties, maybe. His black crew cut and muscular arms screamed Security but he was agitated and uncertain.

Trevor didn't get it. Do you not know the difference between a dog and a wolf?

Are you that stupid? Come on. The man grabbed his arm and headed for the river.

More barking. Trevor had no choice but to jog along beside the man, the towering concrete wall of the dam casting a cold shadow over them. Bulldozed earth, wide gravel roads and broken trees as far as he could see to his right. Better to not look in that direction. He glanced back. The dog appeared around the huge vehicles, headed right for them. It was one of those medium sized husky-like mutts Trevor had seen hanging out of every truck window in every small northern town he passed through. Then he heard the men's voices approaching, a crowd of them. Maybe jogging was a good idea.

Shit. Not going to make it, the man hissed.

He slammed Trevor against the wall and shoved his tongue in Trevor's mouth. Trevor froze in shock. Don't want this. Stop it. The kiss was relentless. Trevor pushed at the man's forehead only to have his wrists pinned as the man ground his hips into Trevor's. The man's groin was soft but it wouldn't be for long. Kicking at the man's legs had no effect.

    Get a room.

He's a wild one, Solly. He have a sister?

Shit, I'd do his mother at this point.

    Loud hoots and catcalls.

What is this, Solomon? The last voice was authoritative, older.

    The man—Solomon—pulled away,
