Lewis stopped near the stage at middle of the Toronto convention centre. A demonstration on anti-drone technology was about to start, creating a large crowd around the seating area. While this was a security conference he hadn't expected to be persistently stalked through the enormous room. He glanced back up Aisle H. Yes, there the two men were, chatting with the Chinese woman at the Iron Shield Security booth.

They were both white and slightly older than him; late thirties or early forties. Their matching navy blue suits only accentuated their height and bulk. It was the bald one who concerned Lewis the most. The man had a clean-shaven round face with pale eyebrows over heavy-lidded dark blue eyes and a broken nose. His lip kept quirking up in a sneer that showed off his sharp canine tooth. The other man was the handsome one: stylish auburn hair, long nose, high cheekbones, dark eyes and a wide sensual mouth surrounded by a five o'clock shadow.

They wanted him to see them but why?

Lewis wormed his way through the back of the crowd then joined a large group who was headed for Aisle 5. He left the group at Aisle J then walked briskly around to Iron Shield Security. His stalkers were gone and the woman was speaking in Cantonese with two Chinese businessmen. Lewis let his coyote Scout sniff the air. Wet dog and masculine arousal. No wonder they could track him through all these people. He took out his phone and pretended to check his messages.

    They left this for you.

Lewis glanced up at the woman who tapped a business card on the counter. He picked it up. Wolfgang Security; local address and number. Two more numbers scrawled on the back in blue pen. Thank you. Do you know them?

No. I'm based in Vancouver. She resumed her conversation with the businessmen. No dual scent on them or anyone close so he was surrounded by non-shifters.

The wet dog scent was dissipating but what did he want with two lecherous werewolves anyway? He slipped his phone and the card into his suit jacket and made his way towards the back exit at the end of Aisle M. The convention centre was connected to a network of malls and passages under the financial district. He'd grab lunch at a food court then come back and pick up his winter clothes and boots at the coat check or abandon them until tomorrow and go underground to his hotel.

Lewis paused at the exit. The ugly wolf didn't even pretend an interest in the booth beside him. Lewis wished his contacts didn't give him such a clear view of the larger man's hungry expression. The handsome wolf was approaching slowly from the left. Did he look that spooked? His eyes flickered back to the ugly wolf then he shoved the door open and ducked through. Long empty grey corridor. The double doors at the end looked about a mile away. He trotted along beside the wall and flinched as the exit was shoved open a second time.

He's scared. We should leave him alone.

So why are you trying to get ahead of me?

Lewis turned to face the men who sauntered towards him. He couldn't pretend it was fear that made his heart race and his breath shallow. His cousin Stevie had pitched the conference as a place to look for a new career and meet people who weren't pilots. Sex hadn't been on the agenda but now it was all he could think about. The wolves' rank scent swamped his senses. He crossed his arms over his chest but remained by the wall as the handsome one circled him and blocked his way.

The ugly wolf licked his teeth. It's a shame you lost your pilot's licence, Lewis. Maybe we can cheer you up.

Do you have to be such a predator, Cole? the handsome wolf asked.

Hey, you're thinking the same thing, Henry. And he isn't running.

Hard to run when we have him surrounded.

    He wants to get caught.

True. Why else would he lead us out this way?

Being talked about like he wasn't there should not be arousing but it was. So you got your paws on my resume.

Cole, the ugly wolf, nodded. What happened to your eyes, Lewis?

    What happened to your hair?

Henry cracked up. "He got this new electric razor and he's used it everywhere. Drop your pants, Cole, and show our new friend."

Cole gave Henry the middle finger. What animal are you, Lewis?

Wait, don't tell us. If we guess right then we get to take you out for dinner.

Or you could come up to our hotel room and we could eat afterwards. Would you like that better, Lewis?

Don't pressure the little guy, Cole.

Lewis felt his lips draw back
