Lois Langer walked into the newsroom and over to her desk. She sat down and nervously tapped the space bar of her typewriter. The twenty-five year old looked nothing like the other reporters sitting at their desks. It was 1955 and most of them were older men. Their wrinkled suits, beat up fedoras and cigarettes hanging from their mouths made them look like the typical newspaper reporter right out of the movies. Everyone had a bottle in their bottom drawer and most didn’t like the new reporter.
Not because of her talent or the big stories she kept breaking. It was because she was a woman and dames didn’t belong in the newsroom especially a babe like her.
Lois was a very beautiful woman with an incredible hourglass figure. The tight knee length skirt, small jacket, and starched blouse hugged her full rich curves. Her long blonde hair was pinned up into a nice twist that suited her oval face. She had baby blue eyes, high cheekbones and pouty lips.
You may ask how such a young lady got a job on one of the biggest newspapers in Los Angeles. Many thought it was because her father was one of the biggest bankers
