About this ebook
My book is written to reach seniors and children of seniors. Too many seniors are needlessly placed into nursing homes and then forgotten. They are not visited by family, especially their children on a regular basis and sometime not at all. Not all children are like this but too many are. In the book I try to cheer up the seniors in these nursing homes, give them encouragement on living their golden years and things they can still do that may not be thought of. Many seniors could be living at home with little if no care. People need to take more responsibility in caring for their senior parents. If I can inspire seniors to do things that will make them happy, then perhaps they won't be so depressed on where they live. i also hope to wake up those young people that placed their parents in a home or have that intention to not make that mistake. i do realize that some seniors need the care available in nursing homes but not the one's that can still function at home or living with their children.

Retired from the U.S. Navy, Submarine Service after 22 years. Traveled to many different countries and states during my career. After retiring from the Navy worked in the IT industry for several large communications firms then started my own consulting and training business. During my travels and after retirement my passion was cooking. I have learned so many different recipes and changed them to improve flavor and texture, then thought how great it would be to provide them to the world. So, I decided to start writing cookbooks. The first is titled: EXOTIC Foods of the World, Appetizers and Dips to Die For, Series 1. I plan to write several cookbooks followed by business books on subject matter that I was involved in when I had my own business. I was born in Chicago, IL, but grew up in Miami, FL. My parents were involved in carnival business, so I traveled to many states while growing up. I went into the Navy when I turned 18 years of age.

What is a Senior? Am I one?
Ok now! Don't cry if you are a senior or almost a senior, because we are all going to become a senior if we live to the proper age....Ha! Ha! Exactly what does being a senior mean? Old Foggy! I don't think so. Are you considered a senior because of your age, how you feel, how you look, or what? They call me old or an old man. Why is everybody always picking on me. Does that sound familiar? Just because we Seniors can't move or maybe think as fast as we use to doesn't mean we are ready for the old folks home. It just means some things take us a little longer to say or do. After all, we can't help how old we are. Blame that on Mother Nature.
Various businesses offer discounts to seniors. The age usually starts at 55 and goes up, depending on the business and what it considers a senior to be. To retire on social security you must be at least 62 unless you have a disability, and our government is trying to change that to an older age. Current full retirement age (abbreviated Fra), is 65, based on your date of birth.
How do you feel? If you say I feel old, then you probably are old, but, not necessarily a senior. It is just a state of mind for the most part. However, there are always exceptions. Some people do feel old because they are old or they have some illness or disease that makes them feel old. If however, you are young and in good health, then you should convince yourself that you feel young because you are! I am sure you have heard the saying you are only as old as you feel
. Well, I feel pretty young, even at 73, except sometime when I have to get up. Ha! Ha! Then I really feel old and I mean old. But, in time I convince myself that I am ok and get up and do something. I am always thinking up books that I would like to write, businesses that I might like to start, and tons of other things that I would like to do. If nothing else, I keep my mind quite active. Keeps me out of trouble, or at least some troubles. Lets face it, when someone young considers you old you then have an excuse for getting in trouble. You can always use Alzheimer's as an excuse....he he. More on that later.
Concerning how you look. For myself, most people that I meet think I look in my early to
