Embracing ADHD - Kane Leboutillier
Prologue: Welcome to Embracing ADHD.
Welcome to Embracing ADHD. My name is Kane LeBoutillier and I to, was once a victim of my attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Sleepless nights, irrational thoughts, a burning impulse to do everything that I wasn't meant to be doing and a mind that never seemed to shut off. These are just a few things that you have to put up with when dealing with adhd and if you are like me, then you will know just how hard it is to overcome!
For the past five years I have been trying to find coping mechanisms that can quiet my brain at bedtime. That can grant me consistent eating habits. That can take away my hyperactive impulse to take on tasks that I shouldn't necessarily be doing! All mechanisms that require you to overcome your own brain, which... Is not easy at all.
These past five years trying out different coping mechanisms, experimenting with different sleep schedules and trying out mindfulness practices, have not been the easiest. However, I will say they have been the most eye opening five years of my life. It allowed me to better understand myself and how my unique mind worked!
Which leads me to this book, Embracing ADHD.
I decided to take on the task of writing Embracing ADHD for a few reasons;
One - I want to share my story of living with a mental illness, that affects millions of individuals across the globe. I wanted to share it to show people just how hard it can get sometimes, feeling like you don't have control over your own body and mind. And I wanted to showcase how adhd can affect relationships with loved ones, due to misunderstandings.
Two – I want to share my experiences of how I went from struggling with my adhd, to working with it in order to create my best life! I want to show everybody out there dealing with the same mental battle I had, that you can do it too. You can embrace your adhd and turn it into a valuable asset!
Three – I want to help you. I want to share the tips and knowledge I have learned over my journey, as I feel they can in fact help other people going through the same experience.
In this book I have outlined eight of the most helpful, more important tips and techniques on how to embrace your adhd. These eight tips are all tips that I have used myself and have found great success upon utilising them! So I hope they can do the same for you!! Along with these tips, I will be sharing them with examples of my real life experiences to show you that they do, in-fact work!
The journey isn't all glamour and gold but the end destination sure is beautiful!
Personally, I hate how there is a stigma attached to mental health that implies we are sick. We are not sick. We are extraordinary beings who are capable of achieving so much greatness within our life! We have been blessed with a unique mental construction, a life full of energy and a heart full of love! Today I am going to help you tap into these
