    Introduction

    The Recipes Book covers two distinctive diet plans with the Metabolism Diet and the Green Smoothie Diet. There are enough recipes within this book to plan the menus for a couple of weeks without repeating any meal. All the recipes in the book call for healthy ingredients. If you wish to change your lifestyle for a healthier one then you should start with your diet and nutrition. The recipes in this book will help you to make the transition to a better, healthier lifestyle.

    There is no right or wrong way to use this book. You can go on the green smoothie diet first, cleanse the body and even lose some weight before starting on the metabolism diet. If you wish to lose weight, it makes sense to start the green smoothie diet first. This will cleanse the body and prepare it for weight loss. It will also fill the body with nutritious foods full of vitamins and minerals. If weight loss is the goal then the green smoothie diet will certainly jump-start the diet. Once the weight loss starts to roll, you will want to increase your metabolism. What better way than to slide into position with a good metabolism boosting diet. A boosted metabolism will give you the energy to exercise more, which will help with continued weight loss and weight management.

    Let's discuss the benefits derived from boosting the metabolism. The biggest benefit of increasing the metabolism is the increase in energy levels. This helps to burn off more fat and calories and shed the weight. One of the best side benefits and probably ironically so, is that after spending a day with a boosted metabolism, you will sleep a lot better. But because the metabolism is heightened, the body is at work even while you sleep burning off those unwanted calories.

    If you can increase your metabolism, you can lose a little bit of weight each week. The good news about an increased metabolism is that you can actually eat more food and not gain weight, because the body is burning it off. Also, when trying to increase the metabolism if you cut back on the foods you eat the metabolism is one of the first things to slow down in your body. So eating less healthy foods is actually detrimental to your weight loss goals.

    One of the biggest benefits of a boosted metabolism is having the energy to get up and move. In fact you may feel you must get up and move about to burn it off. This is good because exercise is such a healthy way to lose weight along with dieting. Even if you are on the green smoothie diet, exercise if very beneficial. If you have the energy to exercise you will do it. And the more you do it the more you will want to do it. The best news of all is that you can get away with exercising every other day to gain the best benefits to the body. And it does not take hours, you can get away with doing it for as little as half an hour at a time. If your metabolism is boosted you will feel like doing this and your body will continue to burn fat and calories even while you rest. It is a win win situation.

    Now you can see the benefits of going on both the green smoothie diet and then the metabolism diet. These two diets have the best and most nutritious foods in the ingredients, which will help you to lose weight while building a healthy lifestyle.

    When going on these diets remember that success comes when you stick to it. Make up your mind you are going to give the diets a big go and do not look back. Sticking with the program will bring about the desired changes you wish to have, be it to lose weight, to have more energy, or to even lower blood pressure or cholesterol, to better manage diabetes or the like. If you do fall off the wagon just get back on. It is okay if you slip and cheat on your diet once in a while. Do not beat yourself up over doing that. But do move onward and get back on it so you will give your body the best chance at being healthy.

    If you have led a sedentary lifestyle, eating a poor diet you may struggle in the beginning to get on these diets. If you can work through this you will feel so much better once you get over the hump of craving the wrong foods. Instead of dieting all at once, you may want to ease into the dieting plan. By easing into it you may insure greater success later. If someone who is completely accustomed to eating a poor diet filled with junk food and suddenly stops, they may reach a day where the cravings for that junk are overwhelming. First, you have to understand that addiction to sugar and junk foods is real. It is as real as an addiction to smoking cigarettes. Quitting cold turkey may be possible and doable for some, but for the majority, it is not.

    If you want to bust the junk food habits first, here's a plan that will help. Take it one snack time and one mealtime a week, or at the very least, every three days. The first week (or first three days) replace one snack or one meal with a nutritious meal from this book. The next week (or three days) replace another. Keep going until you have successfully replaced all meals and snacks with the healthier choices found in the green smoothie diet and metabolism diet sections of this book.
