Gary has a way to take the complex and simplify it for all to understand. His years of education as a Naturopath Physician, in conjunction with his intuitive practical knowledge gained from years of experience have helped countless numbers of patients, myself and my family included. We are all grateful that he has taken the time to write this book. I know it will help many more people across the world.
Gary is never satisfied with the knowledge he has at any point in time. He continually strives to learn, to ask questions and to surround himself with others on the leading edge of medicine. With his diverse medical background he has a fuller understanding of how the body works and how it responds to our environment.
In this book, Gary presents the view that you are what you absorb. I have found through over 30 years of working with my patients on their health and more recently with my sleep apnea patients, that this is indeed the case. I have watched as the nutritional value of food has declined over the past 50 or more years. I have also seen the decline in health of the general population as fast food became a part of our way of life. Conventional Western Medicine has not had a successful impact on controlling the degenerative disease process. In fact, the population has deteriorated in general despite of the medical advances in treatment and pharmaceuticals.
Gary makes a strong point for the reasons we need to take control of our own lives and learn how to manage our lifestyles correctly. Proper dietary choices, regular exercise, and a basic understanding of our body and how it works are key elements in living a long and disease free life.
