Charles Carpenter

Charles Carpenter has been incarcerated since August 13, 2002. During his lengthy separation from friends and family, he has made painstaking efforts to turn his life around. His quest for change began while housed in New Folsom state prison in 2003; it was there that he did his introspection which later gave birth to his debut book Handcuffed. In 2008, Charles was transferred to Ironwood state prison where he took full advantage of the educational opportunities and subsequently obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Science. Charles went on to become a certified drug and alcohol counselor and is currently working on his third book.
