    ~Taking Control – Volume 5~

My name is Jenny. My husband, Matt, and I have been married for almost five years. We met in our senior year of college, dated for several months, fell in love, and married shortly before graduation. Things couldn’t have been better during our first four years. Matt got several promotions at his job, we were able to purchase a beautiful home, and it seemed like our sex life got better every day. It wasn’t until shortly after our fourth anniversary when things began to change. It’s hard to say why, exactly, but a definite turn in our relationship happened, slowly but surely.

A couple of months ago, I noticed that he was becoming more distant. In fact, I don’t think a day went by that he didn’t seem to be totally preoccupied and lost in his thoughts. While we had always been able to sit and talk to each other about anything, there were many days he barely spoke to me at all. As for our sex life, for all practical purposes, it’s pretty much nonexistent. In fact, there are times when it seems like he can barely tolerate touching me.

I, of course, blamed myself when our sex life began going wrong. I can remember standing naked in front of the mirror. I had convinced myself my body was no longer sexy. That’s when I became even more confused. My firm 36C tits were virtually the same as when I was in college – couldn’t be those. If you factor in my slender legs, and my tight ass, I should be able to make any man’s cock hard, or so I thought at least.

I started to consider the unthinkable: Matt was having an affair. I hoped and prayed that I would be proven wrong, but things were about to change in ways I couldn’t even imagine. One day, nearing the end of the workday, he called me and said that he wouldn’t be home from work until about ten. I said I understood, though deep down I had a bad feeling that he wasn’t really staying late at work. I felt completely numb as I tried to take care of some things around the house. I finally gave up, grabbed a couple of beers, and went out to the patio.

I didn’t bother turning on the outside lights. I just sat on one of the lounge chairs, sipped my beer, and tried to make sense out of what was going on with my husband. After about an hour, I finally realized there was only one logical explanation for his behavior. I could feel my eyes filling with tears as I faced the fact that he was having an affair.

Needless to say, the two beers didn’t last me very long. I went back to kitchen, found our cooler, and loaded it with ice and beer before heading back outside. Over the next couple of hours, I went back and forth between anger and sadness. As confused as I was, there was one thing I knew for sure; I had to find out the truth. I couldn’t bear not knowing – that was the worst part.

It was a little before ten when Matt finally walked through the front door. Even though he called my name several times, I stayed right where I was. I didn’t even bother to turn around when I heard the patio door slide open. I continued staring straight ahead when he spoke.

Sorry about the time but I really didn’t have a choice. Since I have to be at the office at the usual time in the morning, I’m going to go ahead and call it a day. Hopefully we can have coffee together in the morning? Well, good night, Jenny.

After he closed the door, there was total silence again. Once I was able to complete a thought, I knew what I had to do. If he was guilty of cheating, I needed to find evidence. I wasn’t about to accuse him unless I had the proof in my hand. Now I just had to figure out how to get my hands on it, providing it even existed in the first place.

It didn’t take long for me to realize I would need to check his phone on a daily basis, starting that very night. Unfortunately, it also didn’t take very long for me to begin feeling guilty. What was I doing? I hated the idea of spying on him, regardless of the reason. Upsetting as it was, I knew that if I didn’t try to figure out what was really going on, I would end up completely useless to anyone.

I looked at my watch and realized he had been in bed for almost an hour. Feeling safe that he was fast asleep, I took a deep breath and made my way inside. I knew he always kept his cellphone on the table beside his side of the bed. I was trying to prepare myself for what I had to do when I glanced over at the kitchen counter. That’s when I saw he had hooked up his phone to our charging station.

I slowly walked over, picked up the phone, and stared at the screen for a few moments. My entire body felt numb as I pushed the button that would open his inbox. My hands began shaking as soon as I saw the first message. It had been sent a little after 9:30 that same evening by someone who called herself Angel. I was sick. I stared at the name for several minutes before I finally found the courage to open it.

The knot I felt in my stomach immediately turned into nausea as I read her words.

Matt, my sweet little baby, you have no idea how much I enjoyed tonight! You never fail to make me feel like a complete woman! I just hope I’m always able to satisfy that very special need that you have. I can’t wait to see you again later this week! Jenny has no idea what she’s missing!

I felt completely empty as I sent a copy of the message to my phone. After I marked the original as being unread, I turned the cell off, placed it back on the charger, and returned to the patio. I tried my best to control my anger. More than anything, I wanted to go into our bedroom, pull him out of bed by a handful of hair, and beat the crap out of him.

I sat for an hour or so, just trying to make sense out of what was going on with him, with us. I took my cell out of my pocket and checked my inbox to make sure the message was there. After I checked the time, I turned off my phone and went inside. He would be getting up in a few hours, so I grabbed a pillow and blanket from the closet and stretched out on the sofa. I didn’t want to be anywhere near him. Surprisingly, I fell asleep after just a couple of minutes.

The smell of coffee woke me up in the morning. Unfortunately, the memories of last night came back immediately. I lay there for several minutes, wondering if I should wait until that night to confront him. When I realized what my day would be like if I waited, I made up my mind. After I grabbed my phone, I took a deep breath and walked straight into the kitchen.

The son-of-a-bitch actually seemed surprised to see me up so early. I poured myself a cup of coffee and sat down across from him. I glanced over and saw that he had already gotten his phone; that meant he had read her message. Matt smiled and asked if I had managed to sleep okay on the sofa. I didn’t bother to answer him. I sat perfectly still as I stared down at my coffee cup.

He didn’t push me for an answer; in fact, he said nothing for about ten or fifteen minutes. Finally he said that he should probably get going and leave for work. I continued staring down as he put his cup in the sink. I waited until he was about to leave the room before I raised my head and softly spoke.

You need to call your office to let them know you’ll be late. In fact, it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to tell them you won’t be in at all today.

Matt looked at me and asked what was wrong - was I sick? I slowly shook my head, got up, and poured myself another cup. After I sat back down, I suggested he make another pot since we were going to be there for a while. He had a very confused look on his face as he poured the last of the coffee and started a new pot. As soon as he sat back down, he called work and said he may not be in today but would call later to let them know for sure.

After Matt hung up, he looked at me and demanded to know exactly what was going on. My voice was completely without emotion as I began.

The first thing I want to ask is who Angel is.

Even though he had a very calm look on his face when he said he didn’t know anyone by that name, it was easy to tell he was lying. I looked directly into his eyes and slowly shook my head. I took my cell, opened my text messages, and laid it on table beside me. As soon as I did, he suddenly began to get nervous. I grinned at him and continued.

You know something, Matt, that’s really curious. I just happen to have a text message that might interest you. Would you like to read it? Oh, one more thing, if you don’t care to use my phone to see it, there’s also a message on your phone exactly like it.

His face was completely drained of color. I could tell by the look of panic on his face that he was desperately
