About this ebook
What's in a Name? is a quirky comedy following the lives of Robin Banks and I Steel. Their lives are monitored by Dr Ingrid Wright who records what the hapless pair get up to. Chapter One: Mr and Mrs Banks name their child
It was a sunny Sunday morning in Waterbridge Church. The building was more than half full, mainly because of two proud parents who sat at the front of the Church with their baby.
So, Mr and Mrs Banks would you like to bring your baby forward?
Frank and Betty Banks stood up and carried their baby to Reverend Wilson who greeted them, or rather the baby, with open arms.
Ah, such a beautiful baby,
said the Reverend. Frank and Betty smiled at him.
Only after he had said these words did he look down at the baby. 'Oh dear,' thought Reverend Wilson, 'Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.' The baby was not a beautiful baby at all. He looked up at Frank and Betty. Er, um, what is to be the name of the child?
Robin,
said a smiling Betty.
Just Robin?
asked the Reverend.
Just Robin,
said Betty.
It did not take the Reverend Wilson long to realise. This baby would have to go through life with the name 'Robin Banks'. He held the unfortunate baby in his hands. The poor baby. He had a stupid name and Betty and Frank Banks were his parents. Reverend Wilson knew that this baby would not have a happy life.
Chapter Two: Mr and Mrs Steel name their child
It was only three weeks later that
