About this ebook

How many times have you heard a woman say, “I can’t find a man”? A large number of single women are looking for love in all the wrong places. Some may already know how to cook, but are looking for the “how to” on getting a man to the table. Others may not have a clue about what to put in a pot in order to entice a man’s interest. Today’s younger women may not know how to cook, or may cook very little, and will be intrigued by the thought of getting a man through food – a concept they’ve probably never considered. We surveyed hundreds of men, both married and single, with the result that while being able to cook might seem traditionally old-fashioned, sometimes old-fashioned works!

If You Wanna Get a Man, Learn How to Cook Book focuses on the courtship process from the woman’s perspective, emphasizing the old-school adage of “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!” Filled with practical dating advice and recipes ranging from very simple to complex, this book speaks to a segment of society that is hungry for insight, information, and attention. Single women who want to learn how to cook to please a current man or to attract the attention and interest of a potential man. Single women who hope to enter into a committed relationship.

Most of today’s relationship cookbooks focus on sex or seduction through food. Sex and seduction are easy, and while sex is an important part of a relationship, if that is the singular objective going in, then the relationship may not last very long. If You Wanna Get a Man, Learn How to Cookbook is a refreshing take on the relationship/love-guide book because it focuses on the importance of building a healthy relationship based on trust, communication, understanding, and acceptance. If You Wanna Get a Man, Learn How to Cook Book is a how-to relationship book that will stand out because of its controversial and conversation-provoking approach, funny analogies, and yummy recipes. Not only will women want to read it to see just what we have to say about getting a man, but they will want to read it because it is funny, entertaining, and timely. If You Wanna Get a Man, Learn How To Cook Book is set up as a series of menu offerings or stages in a relationship. Each “course” discusses an aspect of the courting process followed by recipes with sidebar notes and tips.

There are nine courses or chapters, and at the end of each chapter there is an intermezzo. The intermezzo is an Italian term for a palate-cleansing course, usually a sorbet, which is served during an elaborate meal. Our literary intermezzos provide snippets from various men and women who give their take on a woman cooking, or not cooking, for a man.

    Menu, Please

When you go to a restaurant, there are certain things that you can count on: a host to seat you at a clean table with clean linens and silverware, a menu to peruse, and a server to take your order. You usually have several moments to review the menu before the server arrives to tell you the specials. The specials are never featured on the menu, nor are they ever inexpensive; they always cost more because they are well, special. At some restaurants, someone will come by to pour you some water or maybe offer you something from the wine menu. In many cases it is your server who may do both, however in finer establishments it could be two different individuals. The typical menu always begins with appetizers or starters, and is then followed by soup or salad. If you’re having lunch, the lunch entrees or tapas selections would come next. If you’re having dinner, you would choose from dinner options and then from the dessert menu. While lunch and dinner may not appear on the same menu, it is not unusual to see them together in a few cases.

Relationships are a lot like a menu in that there are stages or courses to be experienced, each having its own place and purpose. For instance, some people take their time reviewing the menu by really reading each description of the meal options to get a good sense of what each dish may taste like. Their intention is to feast or dine, not simply eat. Others simply skim the menu, moving quickly past the appetizers and straight onto the main event; they are so focused on satisfying their hunger that they never think about how the beginning courses enhance the main entree. In relationships, some people take their time at each stage or progression in the relationship so that they can get a real sense of the other person. Others often rush right to the main event—you know what that is—without ever giving a thought to the more important aspects of the other person and who they really are. We have set this book up like a menu so that as you begin this journey you understand how a menu correlates with your pursuit of a relationship. It is our hope that you gain a mental picture of the courtship process as a series of menu offerings or stages in a relationship.

It is our intention that you appreciate the art of the courtship process. Food plays an important part in it because each stage of the relationship should be savored. In this cookbook we will give you not only the recipes, but also the tools that you will need to make magic happen in your own kitchen, on your own stove, with your own very-special someone.

No, You Didn’t Just Say That!

We have heard it before from women of marrying age and older: I can’t seem to find a man. You sit there and wonder, How is it that this beautiful woman cannot find that special guy? Or any guy for that matter. Years ago, R & B singer Kelis had a hit single titled Milkshake. She sang about how her milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. What is she talking about? A lot of women think that their milkshake is all that is needed to bring the boys to their yard. This may be true for some, but when you are trying to get a man, who has time for boys? If a boy is what you want, then go for it! But if what you really want is a man, then maybe you need to stop serving that milkshake and offer up a real meal.

We just don’t understand a woman who doesn’t cook. Don’t get us wrong, we realize that there are tons of women out there who are driven by more than a perfectly grilled salmon or velvety Velouté. We also understand that in today’s society, many women have had to assume the role of provider; as a result, their proper role as the nurturer has become obsolete. Today’s young women don’t know—or worse, don’t care—about the traditional role of a woman in the home. For example, we recently met three young ladies in their twenties and asked them if they could cook. Only one of the three said she could, and the other two seemed completely unaware of any connection between cooking and getting a man.

You should know that when a man is ready to commit to a woman, he will invariably look for one who is set apart from the rest. One factor that sets her apart in his mind from the rest is whether she can cook. Yes, men love to eat! "Yeah, so what?!" you say. Well, there is a caliber of man who has many women to choose from. They might be tall, short, thick, not so thick, smart, wealthy,
