~*~ Audiobook Review ~*~ Protect Your Queen is book 1 in the Barkada series and kicks off with a great forbidden/bodyguard dynamic that really showcases the relationship of the siblings and the complicated web being managed by the oldest brother. Who doesn't love a thrilling forbidden-bodyguard romance with characters revealed in layers that will surprise you! That’s exactly what you get with Chris and Jestiny’s rollercoaster romance. Any preconceived ideas you have about who they are and what they have done to get there is quickly turned upside down. Jestiny is an extremely complicated and accomplished liar out of necessity to protect herself and keep everyone at arm’s length. She’s hiding what she thinks will be the end of her. Chris proves her wrong without bulldozing her personality and trying to run her life. That is the last thing she needs.

Jason Clarke is an incredibly talented performer, so he was the perfect choice to bring Christopher and the other male characters to life. He flawlessly switches with fresh voices to easily separate the different characters and complement Molly’s performance. Molly Briar is the author and a new-to-me narrator and author. She has a pleasant voice and does a good job with such a complicated FMC. You can tell she is passionate about the characters. I really enjoyed these characters and will watch for more in the series to get their story…especially if this author keeps choosing great co-narrators.
