Ashley Farley

Ashley Farley is the bestselling author of the Sweeney Sisters series as well as the stand-alone novels Sweet Tea Tuesdays, Magnolia Nights, Beyond the Garden, and other books about women for women. Her characters are mothers, daughters, sisters, and wives facing real-life situations, and her goal is to keep readers turning pages with stories that resonate long after the last word. In addition to writing, she is an amateur photographer, an exercise junkie, and a wife and mother. While she has lived in Richmond, Virginia, for more than two decades, part of her heart remains in the salty marshes of the South Carolina Lowcountry where she grew up. Through the eyes of her characters, she captures the moss-draped trees, delectable cuisine, and kindhearted folks with lazy drawls that make the area so unique. A predictable ending to the series, including a dropped bombshell of information on the last page that means these characters are in for more drama. I don't care to read any more of this family.

Boots and Bedlam by Ashley Farley is third in the Sweeney Sisters series and yet is easily a stand-alone novella. Family drama surrounds Sam and Eli as they plan a quick wedding at Christmas time. Bedlam definitely reigns as life crashes in around them. Will the wedding even happen? Who forgot the license. And just who is this girl Sam's son has brought home? A fun read and yet Farley deals with real-life issues of alcoholism and substance abuse. Boots and Bedlam is an entertaining story about family loyalty, love, and pulling together in stressful times. And with the surprise ending, there just may be a fourth book coming!I received a copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a review and the opinions are my own.

This is book 3 of the Sweeney sisters series but can be read as a stand alone without confusion. If you haven't read the first two books, you will want yo read them soon to learn more about this delightful family.Samantha (Sam) and Eli want a Christmas Eve wedding but can they arrange it in only 4 weeks? To say that they have obstacles to their wedding, is putting it mildly. Finding a church, a pastor and a place for the reception are difficult enough but they are also buying a new house and need to move by year end. Add to that a very unexpected and difficult house guest, the Christmas rush at Sam's job and issues with her son and the wedding begins to look like it isn't going to happen. I loved the Sweeney sisters and I loved reading Sam's story. The good news is that the next book in the series will be published in January so readers don't have to wait too long to read more about the Sweeny family. Thanks to the author for a copy of this book for an honest review.
