Originally thought to deflect the Evil Eye and represent purity and fidelity, the “something blue” superstition of years past is meant to help couples get luck on their side ahead of “I do”—whether they want to prevent a rainy ceremony, drunken groomsman or legit marriage doom (not that you should be worried about that last one). Nowadays though, the pretty hue is showing up in much more playful ways than before, with modern pairs working blue into everything from getaway cars and painted leather jackets
