About this audiobook

Christian

Being invited to my cousin’s wedding really shouldn’t be a big deal except, oh yeah, I haven't seen my family for a decade.

My parents turned their backs on me and I’ve done everything since to become successful and show them what they lost. Only, it’s kinda hard to be a success when you’re a walking trainwreck.

So I’m going to fake it. Hire a guy with an online presence so impressive they’ll be desperate to welcome me back into the elitist fold, and roll into the wedding with the kind of confidence I’ve never felt a day in my life.

The plan’s a knockout.

Until my fake date cancels minutes before the ceremony.

Émile

One letter from my dearly departed grandfather, and suddenly I’m on a husband hunt.

He’s reworked his entire will so I’m set to inherit far more than I'm entitled to, and all because he’s asked me to use that money for “good.”

In order to get that inheritance, though, there’s one stipulation: marriage.

Even with his request, I’m tempted to stick to my original plan of getting as far from my wretched family as possible, and letting them fight it out.

But then I run into a tall drink of scattered mess outside of a wedding who’s in desperate need of a date, and the pieces click into place.

I help him, he helps me.

Marriage, money, then go our separate ways.

Easy.

Now all I have to do is stop myself from actually falling for the guy.

I really enjoyed this one. Christian and Émile are opposites that really need a significant other and fate has them meeting at the perfect time. I really like how they balanced each other out.

This is a a nice low angst fake relationship book that I couldn’t stop listening to. This was such an easy listen.

A brit from a rich family will get his inheritance only if he gets married.

An american actor tries to get his family love by showing up to his cousin wedding with a successful boyfriend. He tries to get a boyfriend on a website, but he bailed on him but meets the brit right before going in.

They come up with a plan to fake a marriage, so both will win from this. On the way, they fall in love, but no, without obstacles.

The story is a bit cliché but it's cute and nice. James Joseph, which I love in other books, doesn't do an Amercian accent very well in my opinion and comes out a bit forced. Teddy British accent is the same way. I feel like other narrators would do better job with this.

Overall, it's nice and cute, but I probably won't listen again.

I really loved this book. The idea and the characters are cute. I wish there was more I don’t want to be at the end. Just enough spice to add to a cute story.

This was a cute story! This story will have you laughing and have you mad (but not at the mmc).

I usually adore Saxon James’ writing, but this book was all kinds of dull. Even getting beyond the ridiculous premise, everything that happened was utterly predictable, from the intervening family to the forced breakup to the sweet yet contrived resolution. Even the quirky “found family” was comprised of a series of eccentric character traits — the twink, the tattooed daddy, the hunky best friend, the snarky grandma — rather than actual characters with any depth or complexity. And don’t even get me started on how a dancer — a profession based on assured and confident physicality — would be so unrelentingly clumsy. As for the narrators, I love Teddy Hamilton with an unfailing devotion, so let’s just say I appreciated his game effort at a British accent and leave it at that. I know Saxon James is a better author than this and look forward to seeing her regain her mojo.

Laughed and cried with this heart warming story. Great writing, fun romcom with excellent narration from both actors. Cute ?

So in love with Sadenverse… can’t go wrong with Saxon James. It’s warm and tingly, just a relaxing listen. Christian was cut from his family for coming out, he’s found bff’s but can’t let go of the anxiety of his family’s rejection. Emile has lived with the weight of his family’s wealth & demands, he stumbles into helping Christian get through an awkward family wedding. And the magic starts.
