About this audiobook
Marshall
I hate Valentine Tye.
I’ve hated him since we were ten years old. I hate everything he is, everything he stands for. Even the mention of his name gets my back up.
And when I see him?
My blood boils. My jaw clenches and my hands curl into fists. That’s how much I hate him.
I want to cause him pain. I want to hold him down and actually hurt him.
And if that’s not bad enough, that’s exactly what he wants me to do to him.
Valentine
I know what people think of me. I know what they assume. They all think I’m some spoiled rich guy who’s had everything handed to him.
They don’t know me at all.
Behind my carefully constructed walls is an emptiness so dark it scares men away. I like pain. I like being used. For some messed up reason, it validates me. I don’t need love or affection or, hell forbid, emotional attachment.
What I need is a man who hates me, a man who despises me.
A man like Marshall Wise.
Because never in a million years would he ever feel anything for me.
Right?

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a fantastic listen with a spicy start and a beautiful HEA. The storyline is superb, the main characters are amazing, and the narration is flawless. While there are some pacing issues and a focus on smut in the beginning and middle, the last section of the book is about making the relationship work. The characters are deeper than your average rom com, and the enemies to lovers theme is executed perfectly. Overall, this book is a winner and highly recommended.

At first, I thought it was a little more than a sex fantasy, but they got better as it went along, and the characters developed personalities. By the end, it was appealing and very enjoyable. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5

This author is talented but I hated these two characters. Marshall Wise is extremely needy, clingy, and goes to extreme lengths to look after Valentine. He is always there to take care of him, hates anyone hurting him, feeds him, looks after the cat but Valentine does not reciprocate. The most he does for him is to get anxiety if he thinks he is about to leave and tells him repeatedly he cannot be seen in public with him and talks about his bulge. Valentine is not worth Marshall obsession. I wish he would find someone who can more equally reciprocate his feelings. I begrudgingly finished this audiobook. Do not recommend. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

This book is enemies to lovers perfection. Marshall and Valentine are both so much more than they initially seemed. Watching them learn that their preconceived notions about the other needed to be reexamined was beautiful to see. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

This is a very cute read. I like how the story is, of course very cliche, but none of the "reveals" are done in a way that's cringy or ridiculously over the top.
I enjoyed the narration as well - with all the "ashoomed" enunciation, it was entertaining.
