About this audiobook

EZRA

Partying, dudes, and hockey. What more could a gay NHL player want?

If it weren't for Anton Hayes, my life would be perfect.

Not that he affects my life in any way. At all. That would imply I care what the winger from Philly thinks of me.

Which I don't.

Not even a one-night stand with him can thaw his misplaced animosity toward me.

He says I'm the one with the ego, but he can talk. He rivals me for most egotistical puck boy in the league.

I hate him as much as he hates me. Even if I crave a repeat.

ANTON

When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game.

I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids.

My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all.

He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known.

We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens.

That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

The book is good but they completely lucked out with the voice actors. They really bring the story to life especially the actor who plays Ezra. The story is completely enjoyable and the push pull tension between the two male leads is hot.
The book is a standalone story but what's really cool is that the author has created this detailed hockey world that involves numerous characters over many books and series. This particular story references characters that are highlighted in this series and in different series by the author. You don't need to read the other books to know what's going on but since I enjoyed it, I was happy to discover that secondary characters in this story went on to be leads in other books.
So with hockey as a backdrop, the author tells stories of different relationships between all these different male characters... friendship, romance, physical, professional. It's really pretty good.

It was hilarious and steamy ?
Some parts sounded like other hockey MM romance stories I have read in the recent past though. Not sure who copied whom . Ezra and Anton were very funny and very cute ?. They both had very masculine qualities in terms of ego, competitiveness, fear of commitment and just all around excessive testosterone but they were also adorable and proved very supportive of each other as their relationship developed. I definitely loved it. 4.4 Stars?

Ezra is filling some pretty big shoes, next generation hockey god, but Ezra does everything on his own terms that includes very publicly being loud, proud, and very unapologetic over who he is and who he wants. Anton and Ezra have been bitter enemies on the ice, and now they’re teammates. Which is complicated by their equally undeniable attraction to each other. Anton prefers to keep his personal life more private. The banter is fantastic, it’s witty, snarky, and brings these guys to life. The narrators are spot on and don’t miss a beat. Some the secondary characters leave you wanting more. Great start to this series.

This book is amazing. Ezra and Anton are such good characters, and so good for each other. I read a review that they are stereotypical and gay men don't act "like that", and that's not true at all. They are athlethes and as the name of the book say, very Egotistical. Ezra is a fuckboy because he likes to challenge the societal norms and didn't think high of himself, Anton is a little controlling, but because he is insecure. But none of them is toxic to each other. It's the opposite. And the book tackles about homophobia in sports, and double standarts for straight and gay players. And they have a group of out players that is like a family, and they are perfect. Don't trust a review that clearly didn't read the whole book and are just pissed off two woman wrote it. Gay man don't have to be cinnamon rolls, queer relationships don't have to look a certain way or another. Don't gatekeep queerness or who can or can't write about it.

this book is quite literally the absolute worst book out there. it is filled with stereotypes of gay men, it’s written by two cis women (as far as i know), and it’s clear fetishization. if you like this book and you are a cis woman, please look into m/m books written by queer men. don’t recommend this. it’s clear that the two authors wrote straight characters but then just changed their sexuality. queer men don’t act like these two.
