After hearing a surprising review from a booktuber I follow, I decided to give this book a try. While the premise is undeniably absurd—perhaps too absurd for my taste—the characters turned out to be unexpectedly engaging. The audiobook narrator deserves huge credit for breathing life into them and making the story feel more convincing. Though the drama was often over-the-top, it fits the romcom genre, adding to the book’s quirky charm despite its silliness.
