About this audiobook

Maddox Kershaw is the main vocalist of the world’s biggest boy band. He’s at the top of every music chart, every award show, every social media platform, and every sexiest-man-alive list. He’s the bad boy, the enigma, the man everyone on the planet wants a piece of.

He’s also burned out and exhausted, isolated and lonely. Not in a good headspace at the start of a tour.

Roscoe Hall is Maddox’s personal manager. His job is high-flying, high-demand, high-profile, and he loves it. Maddox has consumed his entire life for the past four years. Roscoe knows him. He sees the real Maddox no one else gets to see.

He’s also in love with him.

When the tour and stress become too much, when the world begins to close in, Roscoe becomes Maddox’s lifeline. But as Maddox knows already, and as Roscoe is about to learn, the brighter the spotlight, the darker the shadow.

One of the MCs seemed like their behaviour was at about the level of a 15yr old, which created an age gap feel for me, which is not a vibe I enjoy. DNF after the umpteenth "he pouted .."

I absolutely loved every part of it. I couldn't stop reading and was genuinely upset when I started getting to the end. I wish there was a sequel so badly!

I usually really love N.R Walker's books, but this one fell flat for me. MC 1 felt extremely immature and was always whining/"stomping his foot", and it made him seem a lot younger than he is, creating an unpleasant age-gap feel throughout the whole book. MC 2 just trotted along like a golden retriever, doing whatever the other said when he threw a fit, even though they both had a job to do and MC 1 just couldn't comprehend that. It just felt like MC 1 was griping just to gripe at times, lacked emotional maturity (maturity in a lot of aspects really), and would randomly switch up and be all happy as if nothing happened when they'd do sexual things. It felt like his character was trying to be 10 different character types in one (apparently he's known for being controversial, but at the same time he's an introvert that's super sweet during interviews and filters himself, and he also is very sexually forward - I don't know, it just felt like watching ping-pong and I couldn't fully nail down who he was/what was his personality). I understand MC 1 has anxiety, I really do, but at times it felt like his anxiety was being portrayed as the reason for his outbursts and lack of being able to be professional, when that's just from him being so immature. Just felt like I was reading a 15 year old going through puberty and not getting his way, so he'd rant and rave until he did, and MC 2 was a wet noodle and did as MC 1 commanded.

It was actually really good! It's a romance, sure, but it also get to tough subjects as anxiety, loneliness, constant pressure and the real price of fame. Rosko is such a sweet guy, no wonder we like him on the spot. Great narration too.

I’m learning really fast that you can’t pick up a book by NR Walker and put it down before you finish it. It’s just impossible. Not very wise to do in the middle of your work day so don’t be stupid like me folks. I’m addicted to this author. This book was so sweet! I would usually prefer a little bit more of steamy scenes, there were very few, but the story was so beautifully written that I think it was for the best.

My favorite N.R.Walker book! Nick J. Russo also hits it out of the park as usual!
