About this audiobook
After going past the point of no return and finally reaching breaking point, the only thing Matthew Elliott can do now is start over.
Matthew Elliott is a recovering man. As an ex-cop and ex-fighter, his new job teaching kids at the local community gym about drug awareness and self-defense, is a little bit of both. His new focus on helping street kids is helping him heal, and with Kira by his side, he’s making strides.
Brother and sister, Rueben and Claudia, are homeless kids and they're very much alone. As they strike a chord with Matt, he does everything in his power to help them.
But when Ruby and Claude need more help than he bargained for, it stops being about work, and starts being about home.
The day he met Kira, Matt’s life changed direction, and it’s only now he realizes that everything he’s been through was a lead up to this. It was never about endings. His life, his purpose, was just beginning.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5-This is a review of all the 3 books in the series Turning Point. 'Point of No Return', 'Breaking Point', and 'Starting Point', by N R Walker.
The four detectives in narcotics called the Fab Four and their golden boy Detective Matthew Elliot won my heart right from the beginning of Series 1 'Point of No Return. Matthew was gay and being in a police force he had to keep it a secret from his team. It was love at first sight when he met Frankie, a stunningly beautiful Euro-Asian fitness trainer at the gym he frequented with his fellow officers. It was mutual attraction towards Elliot for Frankie alias Kira Takeo Franco and they begin a secret affair unknown to anyone else.
This series had a great mix of crime, love, passion, setbacks, heartache, fights, laughter, and tense moments along with the great chemistry between the two guys. The feelings were palpable and beautifully portrayed. The connection between these two gorgeous men was believable. The love scenes were sexy and sensual.
The addition of MMA fights and the emotions and struggles of Matthew in the second book added an interesting twist to the story. I was hooked from the start of book one to the end of book three and couldn't stop listening to the audiobook for hours.
A very engrossing and well thought out plot followed each book making you anxious to know what happens next. This book has it all along with love and passion, there is pain, sorrow, fear, regret, anger, and remorse, as the love between Elliot and Kira grows stronger.
Throughout the book, the individual supporting characters evolve and grow. As the book progressed I fell more in love with Kira and Elliot and didn't want the story to end.
Kira's mother was a riot. I loved her character as the bold, loud, and feisty woman with enough love in her heart to embrace all the characters as they come into her life. Kira's father, strong and silent supported his wife throughout the book. All the supporting characters helped to complete each story as it progressed. Each character was lovable and had its own role to play adding that extra zing as the story progressed.
The only hitch that I caught immediately in the story was the glaring clue regarding the drug lord and his arrest that the detectives did not catch. Being decorated detectives they would have caught the slip-up immediately.
But then, this minor glitch can be overlooked when the entire series kept you on your seat's edge till the end.
I have been a great fan of N R Walker's writings and will continue to devour all her books as I come across them one by one. This series though has been one of the best I have read so far, though there are a few more worth a mention and I will surely come back to listen to this series once again later.
For me, this was a series worth a ten-star rating.
Sean Crisden's narration was as usual excellent with wonderful voice-over changes for the different characters.
