About this audiobook

Vampires. Werewolves. Beasts that hunt in the night. When New Orleans Detective Jane Hart investigates her first official homicide case, she never expects to have her world ripped apart. But the murder she’s investigating is part of a deadly war between vampires and werewolves…and now Jane is caught in that eternal battle. A battle that can’t end well.

Werewolf Aidan Locke has been running New Orleans for years. It’s his job to keep the vamps out of the city. But when a Master Vampire comes to town, determined to unleash hell, Aidan knows it’s time to fight with all the fury of his pack. Beast versus vamp, until the last breath. Then he meets Jane…

One look, one taste, and Aidan knows that Jane is far more than she seems. Far more than she even knows herself to be. She’s important in the paranormal war, not a pawn to be used, but a queen to be won. And if he can’t keep her at his side, if he can’t stop the darkness from descending on the town…then Jane Hart will become not just a fierce cop, not some guardian, but something deadlier. Darker. Aidan will fight heaven and hell to change her fate. To change their fate because he is more than just a predator.

And Jane is more than prey. Far more.

The world is changing—for the humans and the monsters. Hot, sexy, and intense, BITE THE DUST is the first novel in New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Cynthia Eden’s dark new “Blood and Moonlight” series.

The first book in Cynthia Eden’s Blood and Moonlight series is set in the wonderful and colorful city of New Orleans. You may have come across paranormal romances concentrating on the nonconformist duo in which one person is paranormal: the other a mundane human. Although. Bite the Dust’s Jane and Aidan Locker are not reproductions. I am a fan of series romance, including favoring books within a series or standalone that have their own happily ever after. Cynthia Eden’s work is exceptional, and she knows how to bring the details that keep you reading to learn who, what, why, and all the reasons for the betrayal that caused all the problems. To me, the rule for Cynthia Eden's books will be always different because she comes up with something different each time, she begins a book series. Nonetheless, and I move on to the second book Better Off Undead the rest of the books since I got them all in my library.

Jane Hart began her job in the city as one of the police officers working the street and keep the community safe. This recently secured investigator status is not as much as necessary to enliven up her life. Together with the mysterious remains shown to overpower any modicum of status quo. A curiously supernatural homicide streak, the passionate fascination of Aidan Locke, a werewolf also alpha to the wolf pack. And the mystical enforcer of New Orleans and her own slightly mortal prominence is going to propel her outside the perimeter of sanity. The position of her job is one that brought Jane across New Orleans keen on the realm of werewolves, vampires, and abnormal mortals. The Whole Shebang seems to be working against Jane, powers much stronger than her own at work, but that does not mean she is going to take it lying down. Jane is ready to clean the house, and Aiden is determined to keep her alive and closer to his heart.

New Orleans Jane Hart is a detective in New Orleans. As she investigates her first official homicide case her world is torn apart by that very investigation. Jane is caught in an eternal battle between vampires and werewolves because her murder case is a part of that deadly war. It is also a battle that can’t end well.Aidan Locke is a werewolf who for years has been running New Orleans. His job is to keep the vamps out of the city. It is now time for Aidan to fight with all the fury of his pack when a Master Vampire comes to town determined to unleash hell. It is beast versus vamp until the very last breath. Then he meets Jane.Aiden knows Jane is much more than she seems with just one taste and one look. Even she doesn’t know how much more she truly is. She is very important to the paranormal war. She is a queen to be won not a pawn to be used. Jane Hart will become something deadlier not just a fierce cop or guardian if Aiden can’t stop the darkness from descending on the town or keep her at his side. Aidan is determined to fight heaven and hell to change her fate. He must become more than just a predator to change their fate. This is another amazing book by an author that continues to writes books that prove to be addictive. Readers will not want to put this one down until the very last page and they will want the next book right now. The characters are complex and intriguing and make for a story that moves at a very fast pace. The action starts right at the beginning and doesn’t stop until the very end. With all the twist and turns this story takes reader will never be completely sure just where this one will end up at and how it will get there. Readers that enjoy paranormal books and enjoy vampires and werewolves will find this is a must read.
