I enjoyed this one. It's uncomplicated romantic suspense with a woman Gwen trying to live after a harrowing escape from a stalker. But when the phone calls started back, Gwen turned to her ex-bodyguard Chance whom she had tried to forget after they had a failure to communicate in their relationship.
The ending wasn't whom I suspected so I enjoyed that twist. The writing was crisp, the action steady and the plot was even. It was a good balance between suspense-thriller and romance.

Enjoyable romantic suspense. I liked Gwen. Chance was a moron. So much drama could have been solved with honesty. He lies/omits way too often for my enjoyment. And spends way too much time saying the wrong thing. Couldn't he have just said - hey your dad came to see me? The romance was about what you'd expect from this genre. The mystery was good, if not fairly predictable. I liked Sophie and I liked Ethan - I really want to know more of their backstory. It seems very dark and bloody. Just what I love.

Alright! A new series from Cynthia Eden, and she never disappoints. With her signature flair for romance, mystery and thrillers she has once again given us a great story. Though similar to the Mine series, it has its own personality with a smattering of intriguing characters. Looking forward to the next installment.

The series title Dark Obsession doesn't lie. The book is pretty dark and about obsession, but very readable. While the story and backstory of some of the characters can be disturbing, it makes for a can't-put-down read. The fast paced action, the did he or didn't he rollercoaster sucked me in and kept me guessing till the end.

I was so excited when I saw that Ms. Eden had a new series and as I was reading it I was trying to hold in my fan girl squeak every time Chance was mentioned. This trilogy is about three friends who started their own security firm and take a case from Chance's old boss. It seems like it should be a pretty simple bodyguard gig until Chance is told the woman he has to protect is the boss's daughter, Gwen. Chance and Gwen have a past that is full of attraction, hurt feelings, and miscommunication. What started as a job turns into so much more than either one anticipated. I'm so looking forward to reading Lex and Dev's books! Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

It doesn’t take long for Chance to realize he isn’t the only one that is watching Gwen. There is a stalker out there that will not rest until Gwen is destroyed. Every moment of every day Gwen is in danger. Chance knows that if he can’t figure out and unmask her stalker there is every chance he will end up losing the only woman he has ever loved.This takes suspense and ratchets it up to unbelievable levels. The suspense lasts until the very end and makes for a book that readers won’t want to put down for any reason. The action is fast and furious and keeps coming throughout the book. It will also keep readers guessing as to who the stalker is and just what they are after. With all the twists and turns in this story it will keep reader on the edge of their seats and guessing what will happen next until the very last page. It will also have readers wanting to read the other two books in the trilogy and have them mourning the fact that they aren’t out just yet. This is another amazing book from an author that proves over and over that she can deliver some fantastic romantic suspense that will keep readers coming back for more.
