The way the main character deals with the inner struggle at the heart of this book was difficult to understand based on the history of these characters. I found it annoying and it made it hard to maintain interest in the book - it induced numerous eye rolls and mumblings about dumb choices. That said, the early books in the series did a decent enough job of creating interest in the characters that I continued listening. And the murder mystery kept things moving along with some sense of intrigue.
