About this audiobook

After his mother dies, rock star Ace White—lead singer of the red-hot band Wicked White—is done with the celebrity game. The phony people, the meaningless one-night stands: he doesn’t want any of it anymore. Quitting in the middle of a sold-out tour, Ace sets out to find some place—any place—where he can be alone.

Aspiring singer Iris Easton’s life has never been easy. First, her mother walked out on her when she was a kid. Now she’s buried in debt, weeks after losing her beloved grandmother. When a mysterious and sexy new guy moves in next door, Iris can’t help but be drawn to his soulful gaze. She can tell there’s something from his past haunting him—something he’s not telling her.

Just as Ace starts falling for Iris, the media go on a worldwide hunt to find the missing rocker. Will true love conquer all, or will the truth be the very thing that tears the couple apart?

I have read some of Michelle's work before so I knew what her writing style was like.

What we have here is a Rock star story, but a very different one at that. Ace is a rock star who is sick of the fame. I feel like he wants to escape it all, and he gets his wish when his mother dies and leaves everything behind. Goes back to the trailer park and hides.

Here he meets Iris, but he has secrets that he doesn't want her to know.

This is a book that has the love feeling, and romantic read about two characters and the love they have for each other.
It is more of a contemporary romance, as it is heartfelt and not all about sex.

All in all this is another good read from Michelle

This isn't your usual rock star book. This one takes you off tour and into real life. In hiding and in plain sight.

Ace isn't the love them and leave them type. Heck, he isn't even the love them type. He prefers to be by himself. He has learned his lesson over the years. He lives with so many regrets. Regrets of the only woman who showed him love growing up... him turning his back on her when he should have put her ahead of his ambitions. Regrets of never really connecting to anyone over the years. Regret of being overly ambitious and putting the wrong things in life first. Now he needs to make amends with himself and do the right thing, the right way.

Iris is alone in life. Things are not going the way they should. The bills are piling up. The park is going to go under, and she will have too many lives on her conscience. Then this gorgeous stranger rolls in. He takes her breath away, but he is so hot and cold. She wants to see him smile. She wants him to open up. She can see his pain.

This is a story of two lonely people who can't seem to make the right choices, even when they are right in front of them. This story is beautifully written. Michelle has a way with giving a story that will stick with you for a long time.
