About this audiobook

No man can win her heart-until now . . .

In the Gladium Province, the boundaries between humans and Morgons, the dragon-hybrid race, continue to blur as a new generation surrenders to long-forbidden temptation . . .

Sorcha Linden does whatever she wants whenever she wants, and no one can stop her. Least of all a man. After all, they're good for only one thing-warming her bed. But then she meets Lorian Nightwing, brother of Lucius. Seductive and iron-willed, he is determined to melt her emotional defenses-and warm her rebellious heart.

The beast within Lorian longs to cage Sorcha and mark her as his own. Forever. Yet the man within also longs to protect her. When a stalker starts leaving Sorcha suggestive gifts with cryptic messages bearing an ancient blood cult symbol, Lorian's dragon side takes over. With her life at stake, Sorcha can no longer deny the love they share. But when evil tracks her into the night, will she be too late to claim it?

Author

Juliette Cross

Juliette calls lush, moss-laden Louisiana home where she lives with her husband, four children, and black lab named Kona. She is the multi-published author of paranormal and fantasy romance. She has a B.A. in creative writing from Louisiana State University, a M.Ed. in gifted education, and was privileged to study under the award-winning author Ernest J. Gaines in grad school. From the moment she read JANE EYRE as a teenager, she fell in love with the Gothic romance--brooding characters, mysterious settings, persevering heroines, and dark, sexy heroes. Even then, she not only longed to read more novels set in Gothic worlds, she wanted to create her own.

Loved this one! I'm so glad I discovered this series, supernatural romances being my favorite genre. I thought vamps and weres were hot but dragons are just so much better. Looking forward to book 3.

I forgot what a daunting character Sorcha was. And Lorian is exactly what she needs to rebuild her trust. Plus Sorcha knows which buttons to push in order to get the broody Morgon all flustered.I

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Hybrid-Dragons, hot sexy men with wings, and a woman who always gets her way!Opening Sentence: “Yeah.”The Review:Windburn picks up some time after Soulfire ends, and I will say this: you won’t miss anything if you haven’t read Soulfire other than some background information. These books are part of a series and while you know characters from the previous book you don’t actually miss anything by not having read it. Sorcha starts off this book in someone else’s bed, and ends a little late to a company meeting where she finally meets Lorian Nightwing! Morgon’s are dragon-hybrids, meaning they don’t shape shift but literally have wings on their backs. The color of those wings also tells you what clan they belong too.Sorcha flirts with Lorian and at first it seems like he might just be able to resist her, but it soon becomes clear that it is futile. They are working together to build the first human-morgon club and continue building harmony in the races, when Sorcha starts receiving mysterious gifts with a logo from a crazed dragon cult on it. Lorian and Sorcha are just getting everything really started when she is kidnapped…and well you just have to read the book.I really enjoyed these books, they are quick easy reads. A little bit of paranormal and just a bit different since there aren’t too many dragon type books out there, but this is a first where they don’t shift at all. I will say that I wish it was just a tad bit longer, and that’s not to say it was rushed, just that it was too short. I would have loved to read some more sexy times, or Sorcha flirty snarky remarks.Notable Scenes:“Flirting with danger was my favorite pastime.”“He was the kind of man who enjoyed the hunt.”“Saying I was like some cat in heat, twitching my tail.”“An act I had once thought would only ever satisfy my body, had finally come to satisfy my soul.”FTC Advisory: Lyrical Press/Kensington provided me with a copy of Windburn. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

The second book in the Nightwing series was a great continuation of the world we were introduced to in SOULFIRE.I really liked both characters in WINDBURN. Sorcha is a sassy, confident and strong girl. Lorian is moody, protective and kinda stuck in his way of thinking. Together they are both stubborn, driven and hell bent on getting under each others skin, which made for a fun read waiting for them to finally give in and jump each other. The stories in this series are really short and to the point. The author does a great job of giving us the necessary details in a short amount of time. The world is revealed a little more with each installment and the secondary characters end up being almost as important as the main characters because you just might see them in the next book. I am excited to see who gets to fall in love next.* This book was provided free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

4 ½ of 5 StarsSorcha Linden and dragon-hybrid Lorian Nightwing definitely share chemistry. When Sorcha is being stalked by a cult fanatic, Lorian will do everything in his power to protect and claim her.Windburn is an exciting action pack, and suspense filled story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I flew through this 91 page novella engrossed in every page. I enjoyed Lorian’s intense personality. He is all alpha and not someone people messed with. Well, that is anybody but Sorcha.I appreciated that Sorcha didn’t fear Lorian’s dominance and liked to push his buttons. She is a strong heroine who does not back down; a good challenge for Lorian. I was fascinated by the business aspect of this book and the creation of the human- Morgon nightclub. The description and organization were well done with vivid detail. Windburn is a cleaver well-written story. It is the first book I read in the Nightwing Series, and it definitely sparked my interest in continuing this series.Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

What an amazing story, I love the idea of the Morgon's. Yes, I have yet to read #1, but I intend too, as I enjoyed Windburn so much I don't want to miss out on anything.Sorcha is a great character, she's strong, a bit of a b**l buster, in business and in her personal life, she thought she had them all numbered. Lorian want's Sorcha, he intends to put his mark on her and make her his own.A great plot with action, thrills and steamy romance. I can't wait for the next intalment to see where Ms.Cross and her imagination takes us.

"I don't give a damn about anything but you, Sorcha. Don't you understand?" - Lorian NightwingLorian, oh, Lorian, why must you be so perfect? More than anything, what's wrong with your sense of logic?! Why Sorcha of all women?!Sorcha Linden has any man she wants wrapped around her little finger. She has no problem being a bed-hopper, but Lorian Nightwing, her latest obsession, won't have it that way. Either she's his alone, or not at all. A dark cult looking to turn her into a blood sacrifice is not helping things one bit - not in her life, or in the situation between them. Can she keep her heart guarded and finally lay with the big bad Morgon? Or will she choose her freedom, losing him - and her life - in the process? As you may have guessed, I didn't like Sorcha. At. All. I may agree with her opinion that a woman can use her assets the same way men use their muscles, but the rest of her as a main lead was... a bit too much for me. First and foremost, if you insist on being taken seriously as an adult, then stop acting like a whiny little you-know-what when the guy you're after refuses to give it to you, just because he has some self-respect and respects you, as well. Sheesh! You'd think she'd appreciate him being honest right from the start instead of trying to tie her down in the long run AFTER the deed was done. But noooo, not Sorcha! She gets angry at Lorian, because the poor guy's philosophy for sex was simple: no sharing with others, and honesty about that particulart part BEFORE hitting the bed! Finally, a guy - even fictional - who agrees with me on bedroom matters! I was beginning to feel like a freak! Poor, poor Lorian, why you? What's worse, was the fact I had to endure her thoughts whenever it was her POV I was reading. I don't mean to sound like a prude, but really, girlie, we get it, you like sex, you think it's an awesome weapon to use, ok, that's enough. I got bored of hearing it over and over again! Seriously, you need a hobby! Now let's move on the reasons why this book was nearly perfect despite Sorcha's existence in it. Number one, Lorian!Lorian was one magnificent piece of Morgon... butt, and I'm not talking about his physique - mostly. I'm talking about his personality. Persistent, loyal, badass, true to his beliefs - yup, that's Lorian, all wrapped up in a fabulous appearance which I would very much like to pin me down - no preference on the flat surface, I'm pretty adjustable. For most of the book, he growled instead of talking - oh, yummy! - but usually he was silent, observing his surroundings. He didn't want to be another notch on Sorcha's bed - no blaming you there, buddy, who knows where that has been - but he knew she was his mate. So, what does he do? Easy, he makes it known he wants her, but refuses to have her until she vows she's his. No pressure there, sweetheart - but, oh, you're not having any of this delicious male till you succumb! That, people, was true dominance. No brute force, no stupid sex toys - just pure, unwavering willpower! The other reason why I loved this book more than the first, was the action. A dangerous cult makes its debut here, and there are some pretty scary scenes in the story. They're enough to bring the book's level up considerably, and showed that Cross can add more than just love drama to her story to spice it up. I simply loved it! Plus, not knowing who the culprit was had me on edge till the very end!!!Now I have to wait for Paxon's book to come out - oh, the horror of anticipation, how it's killing me...***I was given an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
