About this audiobook

Ellen Marx sees ghosts.

Her mother Rita just wants her to be a "normal" eleven-year-old kid. But that's tough to do when you receive a birthday card from your dead father.

Following a trail of breadcrumbs left by her dad, Ellen sets out on a journey to unravel the mystery surrounding her father's disappearance and ends up unearthing secrets best left buried.

The third and final book in the haunting trilogy, The Messy Man brings to a close the story that began with The Nightmare Room and The Hungry Ones.

11 year old Ellen Marx is on a mission; her father has told her to travel to a place called Blind Rock where she may be asked to save some lives and lay some ghosts. The only trouble is that Frank Marx is dead. This is the last of a trilogy and does a neat job of tying up the loose ends of Willa, her son Peter and her familiar Whisper. My favourite character is Ellen herself though, she came across as abrasive in the first two books but she's a delight in this one. I don't even blame her for the abrasiveness, who wouldn't be with a mother screeching "why can't you just be normal?"

Nice wrap up. Not as good as the first 2, but it closes the loose ends.
