About this audiobook

Superstitions only survive if people believe in them...

Renowned academic Dr Sparling seeks help with his project on a remote Irish village. Historical researchers Ben and Chloe are thrilled to be chosen – until they arrive...

The village is isolated and forgotten. There is no record of its history, its stories. There is no friendliness from the locals, only wary looks and whispers. The villagers lock down their homes at sundown. A nameless fear stalks the streets...

Nobody will talk – nobody except one little girl. Her story strikes dread into the hearts of the newcomers. Three times you see him. Each night he comes closer...

That night, Ben and Chloe see a sinister figure watching them. He is the Creeper. He is the nameless fear in the night. Stories keep him alive. And nothing will keep him away...

The Creeper is a masterful tale of horror and suspense, by one of Ireland's most talented emerging authors.

The twist ruined the entire book. Like finding a fly in your 5 star soup and someone force feeding it down your throat.

So-so character that are hard to invest in. If you like slasher film you will enjoy as more instreast in “villain “ then the protagonist.

With this story taking place in modern day Ireland....the creepiness of 'The Creeper' worked well! The book could be called a slow burn horror story which are the ones I avoid. But when I started it, the two main characters Ben and Chloe grabbed me in a way that I had to find out what was going on.

When they arrive in the strange and very weird town to do an investigative type story for a Dr. Sparling, they are immediately shunned. No one wants to see them nor do they want to be asked anything for answers. Except one small girl who opens up and tells them more than they want to hear. What is 'The Creeper' that comes at night that she warns them about. 'Uh-Oh! it's getting dark.....he is coming for you!'

I did enjoy this tale, however the reveal was an almost let down in the finding out what and why. Would still recommend this creepy story though to anyone who likes their horror in the vein of 'Harvest Home' or 'Children of the Corn' type of horror.

The Journey and narration is not bad but the ending is a catastrophe. The concept has been a lot , since a certain 73 horror film. This is not even close that quality. Like watching m night shyamalan’s worst films

This audiobook was very enjoyable. There were suspenseful attributes that kept me listening. The narrator was terrific and kept the momentum flowing. Descriptive scenes were clear and easily visualized. The premise, altough done before with different twists, was done well. I found it very well written and equally as such narrated. It is creepy, hence the name.

Like others have said, the reveal at the end totally unravels everything about the plot being even slightly plausible. A real shame, as it had me invested until that point. I'm genuinely confused as to how this one has an average of 4 stars. Shine's other audiobook on here: The Watchers is far more coherent and enjoyable, I definitely recommend giving that one a listen before this.

I’ve been listening to this book for nearly two hours and for the life of me I have ZERO IDEA WTF they’re going on about!!! Maybe it to get better, but I just can’t invest any more brain cells.

I thoroughly enjoyed this supernatural horror story. The characters each had their own back story and the story itself is rather unique. I would definitely recommend this book if you enjoy the supernatural element to a well written horror story.

Absolutely hated the ending, wasn’t plausible and I was disappointed by the whole thing. Just didn’t suspend my disbelief and the main characters were exceptionally irritating.
