About this audiobook

Horror is what Dan Law enjoys. He loves to read horror novels as a way to escape from his teaching job, from his loneliness, from the everyday dullness of life in Silver Lake. That's what Dan lives for. When a new bookstore opens in town, every visitor receives a free book of their own. A book that tells their own personal story…a story they have to follow to the brutal end. As Silver Lake's population descends into violent savagery, Dan finds he is no longer living for horror novels – he's living inside one.

This was such and exciting audiobook, I can't give it enough stars. Continuous excitement coupled the narrator's voice changes and inflections, it screamed for me to keep going. Great horror depictions with great character development gave you a firm connection to the story. The story line had a needful things feel but what the author did to build the horror was very imaginative causing it to hold it's own weight. The narration put it over the top for me...great pairing. Read it for yourself. You won't be sorry. Not for the squeamish.

The writer doesn't hide his love of the writers King and Laymon and uses the same small town setting whose population are unaware of the evil in their midst, except for a handful of plucky individuals who try to stop the malevolent force.

It's not really unique or ground breaking but the story doesn't drag for a moment. Entertaining stuff. There's animal death included in the carnage so be warned.

It’s just too much, too gory. Not for me I’m afraid.

So, what if a strange man opened a book store in your small town that ONLY sold Horror Fiction?!! This would be the ULTIMATE STORE.....But! Do you dare go it? Get ready for a horror tale of a different kind; "The Bookshop from HELL"!

This was such a quick and fun scary little tale of a little man and a 'Horror ONLY' bookstore. A bookshop from hell! The man known as Castavet comes into Silver Lake and decides to open the little store that only sells horror fiction. For this new stores grand opening Castavet let's the town know that anyone who comes into look and or shop for their favorite horror author; that they will walk away with a free gift.....a book that is 'theirs ONLY' and he tells them 'You will love, love, LOVE it!'

Upon opening their books, the townspeople realize that all the pages are blank....but are they really?
Local school teacher Dan Law LOVES his horror books. Yes, he reads them all from Andrews, to King to Laymon......so he is so excited for this opening. But what he does not realize is that these books are special and unique; they start to take over the townspeople's lives, and Silver Lake nor it's people that live there will NEVER be the same. Now don't think that this is just another book like "Needful Things", yes, there are some similarities, but I enjoyed this more than that book. The scenes of carnage, murder, bloodshed and suicide and mass hysteria were things you didn't see in 'that other book'. Yes, Castavet has an axe to grind and will he sharpen it to the Max!!? Just read or listen to this, as I did on Scribd. I can recommend this book highly, it was a fun read.
