A REESE'S BOOK CLUB PICK

“Are you ready for the roller coaster ride that is The Club? . . . A beautifully written, densely plotted murder mystery that takes place at a private club off the coast of England. Read about a luxurious, celeb-only island during a weekend of partying and ultimately murder.” —Reese Witherspoon (Reese’s Book Club March ’22 Pick)
From the author of People Like Her comes a smart and sinister murder mystery set in the secretive world of exclusive celebrity clubs.
Everyone's Dying to Join . . .
The Home Group is a glamorous collection of celebrity members' clubs dotted across the globe, where the rich and famous can party hard and then crash out in its five-star suites, far from the prying eyes of fans and the media.
The most spectacular of all is Island Home—a closely-guarded, ultraluxurious resort, just off the English coast—and its three-day launch party is easily the most coveted A-list invite of the decade.
But behind the scenes, tensions are at breaking point: the ambitious and expensive project has pushed the Home Group's CEO and his long-suffering team to their absolute limits. All of them have something to hide—and that's before the beautiful people with their own ugly secrets even set foot on the island.
As tempers fray and behavior worsens, as things get more sinister by the hour and the body count piles up, some of Island Home’s members will begin to wish they’d never made the guest list.
Because at this club, if your name’s on the list, you’re not getting out.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was an interesting book, but I didn't love it. I kept on expecting a more thrilling storyline, something exciting, but it felt a bit dull. It was entertaining, but for a Reese's bookclub pick, I thought it would have more drama and plot twists.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Ugh!
A shallow story about shallow people. Irritating and hard to follow. Really annoying narrator. I did not really like it, and would not recommend. Big waste of time.2 people found this helpful
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Insanely slow start. It was really hard to get into and follow along. Once I got 1/2 way in, because other reviews said keep going, I was pretty invested. The ending, while surprising, was kinda disappointing. I was hoping for more closure and to find out what happened with some characters.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great character development and use of each other across storylines. The first half is a bit slow but really takes shape in the middle.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I feel it was rushed at the end to tie it all up, but other than that I loved it. I work for the elite and wealthy also and I could identify with the atmosphere of that kind of job. I def enjoyed the story.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This took a bit to get invested. In the end I get it there were a lot of small stories with all the characters to establish. Biy when it kicks in though it does not let up. Great setting and sometimes you have no idea who's the bad guy anymore. Great timeline and suprises. Definitely recommend

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Truthfully probably 4 1/2 stars but this was a great read. Great combination of scandalous beach read and a little bit of a thriller.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Fantastic thriller! Perfect for fans of Ruth Ware and Alice Feeney. Well written, great atmosphere and character development. A slow build with a brilliant ending. Perfectly executed, all around a very good thriller with a powerful message about wealth, power, greed, and betrayal

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What short phrase describes a novel that is humorous, sarcastic, ironic, insightful, and compassionate? The characters are all too human, the action believable, and the plot perfectly crafted to leave readers baffled as the threads pull together. Perhaps that phrase would be "a delightful read." This author's talent amazes me.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was surprisingly really good. I give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars!!!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The plot of the book was good, but it seemed all kind of rushed. The end was really mediocre and honestly I wish it was all just better. Some characters had major potential and then blah.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing narrator and a great story told from multiple unreliable narrators. Great for fans of Lucy Foley!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Really hard to listen to as they switch the narrative between like 5 different people. Might have been easier if each person had a different voice actor instead of one person slightly changing their voice.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I think the come and up pace of the story is well achieved, tho once the end starts dwindling it wasn’t thrilling enough for me. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great story with so many twists and turns. Highly recommend
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5There were a lot of characters to keep track of, none of them very endearing. It read like a knock off of a Lucy Foley novel.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5You know when you watch a show that clearly should've been a movie instead? That show is this book. This book was unnecessarily long. I found myself frequently tuning out details that went on and on, yet weren't essential to the plot or the mystery. I kept clicking back to look at the app to see how much time was left, then groaning when I saw HOURS remaining. The basis of the story was interesting enough, but not enough to fill 8ish hours. I didn't love ANY of the characters. Hence, I never felt connected to the outcome of their lives. None of the plot twists were jawdropping or completely unexpected, and I just generally felt let down and wishing an amazing editor had gotten ahold of this book before it got to me. Don't think I'll be listening to another one by this author.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Good
Just a-lot going on with a whole lot of people - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed this one. Good pacing. Reese always picks good ones! ❤️
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was great, fast paced and loved the plot twists.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A solid thriller set in the world of exclusive celebrity. Didn't enjoy as much as the author's other one and the narrator was unfortunately bad at accents, but overall readable.
