Super fun read. I'll admit it been a long time since I read nightchaser, But the book did a good job of walking me through what happened in the first book without it being too telly. I'm really enjoying how the author completes one story arc well lifting the curtain a little more each time on the larger plot. I'm really curious to see what the next couple books do to take the conflict between the main character and the overseer.

First if you haven't already, go read nightchaser, then come back to Starbreaker.
I am so in love with Tess and Shade and truly can't believe I have to wait a whole year to get the rest of this story, {not cool}!
Now this story is modern day (future Robin Hood) Heists that even include being derailed from a mission to rescue lots of people!
Gabe.... How could he? Man he is conceited right? JK he is a good supporting character

This is the second foray into Tess, Shade and their crew's universe. Tess and Shade are one "ohhhh lawdy it's hot in here", sizzling duo that have weathered some storms, been tested and have come out the other end both stronger and more united... or are they?!? This Space Operatic, Fantastical Romance has action... its action has action and that's putting it mildly BUT things don't really get revved up until 60% or so which can definitely be a problem... don't let it! Even though the plot limps along like a wounded cyclodile until then, it is busy slowly building up the crux of the dramatic intercharacter relations/dilemas. If you stick with it and push through the school zone pacing, you'll see that the slowly building content crescendo makes the last 40% SO worth it! Characters, characters, this has some well built, robust, dimensional characters. The chemistry between the crew is charming. The chemistry between the lovers is on fire! The writing is intense. The world development is grand and the characters are the very best part of this series and I don't say that lightly. This is one insane wimner take all, rush to save/rule (with an iron fist) the universe, space heist featuring a couple so hot they will burn right through those pesky late night hours. You'll emerge bleary eyed, heart ramped up to tachycardia levels and begging for more. This is the sweet release from the everyday monotony we all feel lately... and really, what more could you want from a great, sexy (at times) read? Overall:Although I was not as enamored with this book as much as the first, I still found this one to be a solid read. This Space Opera/Fantasy/Romance is action packed. The characters are the stars of this show and you won't be bored or want for more action (eventually). This book has loads of twists and turns and action... did I mention the Action?? Did I love this one? No. Was it worth the time and emotion devoted to it? YES!! Go ahead, give it a try... especially if you liked book #1!!Side note: I highly suggest that you read this series in order or else you'll be lost in the galactic sauce. ~ Enjoy!*** I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review ***

I had a really good time with this book. This is the second book in the Nightchaser series which is a series that is best read in order since this book picks up shortly after the events of the first installment. I really enjoyed the first book in the series and was pretty eager to see what Tess and Shade would face in this installment. I found this book to be enjoyable from beginning to end.One of the things that I really liked about this book is that there was a lot of action from the start. Tess, Shade, and the rest of the crew seem to always find themselves in dangerous situations and it was fun finding out how they deal with each situation. There were times that it was almost impossible to set the book aside because I was so caught up in the action of the story. I thought that the action in this story found the perfect balance with the more romantic and character-focused parts of the book.Tess and Shade are both characters and I think that they really do make a great pair. They work well together and seem to be able to handle almost any situation. They are both able to think outside the box and will do what is needed to reach their goals and keep each other safe. I liked that this story is told from both Tess and Shade's point of view because I feel like we really got to know exactly what each of them was thinking. It was fun to watch their relationship continue to develop in this installment.I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this was a really well-done science fiction romance filled with wonderful characters. This story had a lot of action and more than a few twists and turns to keep things interesting. I cannot wait to read the next book in this exciting series. I received a digital review copy of this book from Sourcebooks Casablanca via Edelweiss.

Starbreaker by Amanda Bouchette2nd book in the Endeavor series. Science fiction romance adventure. Rebels against the Dark Watch and Overseer. A female Captain fighting for the poor. Best to read the first book, Nightchaser, for the extensive world building. Zero to sixty percent was a bit slow. More romance and relationships. Sweet while building up the galaxy and back story of Shade. 61% to the end was a race of desperation, of fighting, planning, escaping, fear, death, fighting, and trying to prevent the mad man from winning. The secondary characters have depth and individuality. This is an ongoing adventure that is clearly not yet finished. I look forward to reading more adventures of the Endeavor’s crew.I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to share.
