Description

What’s the difference between coaching, counseling, and psychotherapy? In this episode of The ABMP Podcast, Angie Parris-Raney is joined by Mary McEvilly-Hernandez, a master certified and professional coach, to discuss what the framework of coaching consists of, how it requires presence, deep listening, and curiosity, and how it’s a transferable skill for massage therapists. After growing increasingly uncomfortable in corporate America, Mary McEvilly-Hernandez built a coaching practice in 2011 to help her clients live and work from their hearts as well as their heads. Her clients find that self-awareness and self-acceptance open the door to personal and professional transformation.   Mary is a master certified and professional coach. She trained and certified with Martha Beck Inc. and was recruited, trained, and certified as a Chopra coach in 2017. She has a PCC credential from the International Coaching Federation and is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness coach. Mary is an instructor and mentor for the Chopra Coaching Certification program and the MBI Wayfinder Coach Training Program. She is bilingual, working with clients in English and Spanish. Originally from Chicago, she and her family live in Arizona and Mexico. Mary coaches executives, those with blended families, and those with children with special needs.    Host:   Angie Parris-Raney is a licensed massage therapist and is the advertising director for ABMP. She is Chopra Center Certified in meditation and ayurvedic lifestyle. Her training explores physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Angie is also the founder of the nonprofit, Project Inti, an organization that provides aid to low-income Peruvian families and communities. For more information, visit www.projectinti.org.
